I often find myself never wanting to be social, after 12 hour days with clients and dealing with all things business, I feel like i don’t want to talk to anyone 🤦‍♀️ But whenever I make the effort to get dressed and socialize with friends it’s always Amazing and feels so good! This wonderful industry we are in is so exciting and draining at the same time. I guess it’s all about the balance. How do you feel?

Finding balance is one of the biggest challenges I think hairstylists face. Having the courage to say “no” without feeling guilt or pressure is always a struggle. We spend so much of our time enhancing others lives we often forget to make our own life. When you work hard building your business it enables you to live a great life. Work hard , play hard. Hey West Seattle! We have partnered with the YMCA Social Impact Center for a holiday gift drive. This supports the SCSI program serving the the underserved and at risk youth of our West Seattle community. Please consider donating toys , clothes , gift cards, or anything else that could be useful for youth ages 5-19. Gifts do not need to wrapped and can be dropped off at our salon anytime between now and December 15. It takes a village so please join us in supporting and empowering the youth of our community.

Last nites power outage was a small deterrent for sure. With a salon full of clients and it being holiday season , with the help of a few solar lanterns our stylists handled it with style , grace and a good sense of humor. They powered thru and didn’t miss a beat. Their determination and dedication is undeniable. Everyone WILL be beautiful for the holidays. Shout out to .like.the.reef .e.beauty .inez

Shout out today goes to this beautiful, amazingly talented goddess. We have been together 8 years , 4 salons , lots of cocktails and some shenanigans! She is that human with a wicked sense of humor that can make me belly laugh. She is such an integral part of the Factory team and i am so blessed she is still with me after all these years. Everything about this makes me happy. I see this sweet soul once a year and its always something big! Today did not disappoint! We chose not to do color because after the haircut her remaining color looked so intentional.

This is Cheri. She has been in the beauty industry longer than most of you have been alive. She has been in our building for 45 + years , opening a salon here when i was still a teen. She still works 2 days a week , doing the same clients for 45 + years , seeing them thru marriages , divorces , children and now thru the end of their days. Her clients shuffle in with their walkers and canes and are always happy to see us and still call us “girls”. These are your grandmas and great grandmas. They are a calm grounding. Cheri isn’t fancy , she doesn’t do Tik Tok , Instagram , Facebook. She still uses that paper appointment book and only takes checks or cash. Cheri has watched our industry change over these years and her stories are invaluable. Cheri always keeps it real with her calm , wit and grounding. She has been with us for 5 years and i am honered and grateful every day to know her and work with her. She is my hero.

Summer Hair! Trying out this new charcoal lightner from Difiaba and i have to say i am not mad at it. 45 minutes no heat,no bag. Condition of the hair is great. Tinker bell has been born!

After a long 18 month process of growing out , lightner s , and haircuts,we felt like it was washing her out. A few lolites and now some nice dimension. Moving into your natural grey is not for the weary hearted.
