Todd Oly Olsen is a Barbell Strength Coach, Self-Defense Instructor and Professional Wrestler. My clients range in age from their mid-twenties to mid-sixties.

My clients desire a stronger body and they want to know how to get it. I teach and coach my clients in progressive strength training. Not everyone has to be a power lifter. However, anyone can benefit from learning how to lift weights correctly and how to progressively get stronger, using the best, tried and true, basic exercises.

This is a competition style (pause at chest) Bench Press of 315 lbs. Here I demonstrate the "scapular lock" that I teach my clients. If you watch closely at the end, I re-lock the scapulae before racking the weight. http://www.barbelltrainer.com/scapular-stability/

2 months ago I got this new knee. The original injury was 29 years ago. Even though I'm pretty old (58) I'm considered young in the "knee replacement world" and overall, most joint replacements are on older people who are just trying to be able to do everyday things a little better. I hope to "safely" contribute some valuable information on this subject as the next few years go by. Having said that, I'm happy to report that I was able to get back to my bench pressing cycle 3 weeks after surgery and am on track to do a competition style bench press (pause at bottom) with 320 lbs. I hope some of this information is helpful to others.

Two weeks ago, 450 lb Dead Lift. One week ago, 405 lb Dead Lift 1x5. Today, 460 lb Dead Lift. That's about all I'm gonna ask of my right knee. Next week, I get a new knee. 30 years in the waiting. The point is, I've never let the injury stop me. If I could have had it fixed back then, I would have. But that wasn't to be, so, I just kept going. What else was I going to do? Quit? "Quitting is not an option".

One of the reasons that I wanted a career in professional wrestling was watching this man, Eric Froelich, every Saturday on British Columbia Television's All Star Wrestling.
