Super satisfying before and after. This client has the most gorgeous almond eyes. African lashes are delicate, however, so I had to be cognizant of the weight load on her lashes. Still, I wanted to give her lashes that held their own and popped on her beautiful features. She’s a stunning woman so we had to give her some glam. I think it was a success! (I wish I brushed out that right eye more because both eyes were similarly fluffy, I promise!)

Don’t worry, this isn’t political and it isn’t about whether or not you should get vaccinated. I’ve stayed on top of the research about the effects of Covid on the body and, so far, there’s reason to believe that it causes early onset on the elderly, it accelerates the aging your organs by an average of 3-4 years, and we have no idea why it causes long term brain and organ damage to some but not others. This new story about the Parkinson’s similarity is the most recent finding. There’s just so much we don’t know about the effects of this illness, so I will not be relaxing my mask requirement. I will also be maintaining my vaccination/booster requirement for facials (I’m not saying you should get vaccines—I’m just stating my requirements to feel safe in an enclosed space with unmasked people). As the weather turns and we stay indoors more, I would like to keep everybody who comes to see me safe. So while the state is dropping its mask requirements, due to the nature of my work and the close proximity my clients and I are to each other, please continue masking! (I will also have surgical masks available.)

Hope I don’t get flamed for this one, but I said what I said. Hybrid sounds fancy because you think you’re getting the best of both worlds, but unless it’s part of a strategic styling choice (such as textured volume, the strip lash look aka ‘the Kardashian’—all of which still would look better if you used all volume), then you’re getting sold “wimpy volume.”
What’s happening most of the time is that your tech doesn’t/can’t do real volume fast enough, so they sell you on the idea of “hybrid” so that they can sort of do volume without the time constraints. Volume takes more time to construct (those fans don’t make themselves) and more skill to place properly, therefore, it’s more time consuming. It’s a lot easier to do “hybrid” and kind of volume you up but still give myself the out to switch to classic when time starts to run out.
What I’ve actually noticed in so-called “hybrid” sets is that they’re putting on pairs of lashes in a Y shape instead of actually constructing fans. They’re using the same lash. Just slapping on duos here and singles there. There’s rarely indication when I look at a so-called hybrid set that there was ever a hybrid of lash extension types in there.
I would actually charge more for a true hybrid set because having to go back and forth between two sets of lash extensions is a logistical nightmare. I already use up to 10 different lengths when I do lashes—do you think I would actually want to double that up to 20 different lengths to include another entire set of lashes? The truth is that most don’t do true hybrid. They’re just stacking two classic lashes onto each lash to call it “volume” and gluing singles to call it “classic.” (Continued in comments.)

Dear friends, in light of how contagious the new variant is proving itself to be, I’m requiring all guests to the studio to wear N95 or KN95 masks, or at least double mask. No cloth masks please (unless used as the second layer on top of a 3-ply surgical mask). I, myself, have switched to N95s for your safety. Thank you for understanding! I’ll revisit this at a later date, but for now let’s keep each other safe!

I mean, I would never do that, but…I understand the urge. 😂

After careful consideration, the Bluebell studio is still requiring masks for all services except facial services. 😷 (And only vaccinated individuals who send proof of vaccination will be accepted for facials—see below the accepted form of proof of vaccination.)
I hate to be one of the few holdouts, but in esthetic services, we are all so close to each others’ faces that we are literally breathing each others’ air. It’s just a smart thing to do while the highly contagious Delta Variant is spreading. 🦠 ☠️
I didn’t come to this decision through paranoia alone. In my former life, I wanted to be a demographer, so I have training in statistics. I was trained to read academic writing in scientific journals, and nothing I’ve been seeing of the actual science indicates to me that it’s safe to take off our masks yet. 🧐Conversations with doctors, who are by and large still very concerned, have reinforced my conclusion.
I truly hope the day comes soon that we can unmask and I do not judge anybody now for taking up the state government’s permission to unmask, but given the logistics of my services, I am going to continue to ask all my wonderful customers to continue wearing their masks when they come for services. 😷 💕
FACIAL CLIENTS: I have a special protocol to verify vaccine status if you prefer to not wear a mask. Vaccine cards can be faked, so please verify your status at https://myirmobile.com and take a screenshot of your C19 state certificate and send it to me through text, email, or dm! Repeat: I WILL NOT ACCEPT VACCINATION CARDS. (Feel free to reach out if you need help with this! I can help!) 🙋🏻♀️

My colleague Amy is 💯 right!
💅FALSE. It’s rare that we apply enough makeup to provide the full protective benefit of the spf on the label. Make SPF application a separate and thorough, full coverage part of your skincare routine and reapply as needed.

Loving this before and after. When someone has beautiful, healthy natural lashes, it seems almost like I’m gilding the lily by putting extensions on them, but I can’t help it. I like a thick lash line, and I cannot lie. 💁🏻♀️👸🏻✨

All good tips. I would add one of my own: Book serious appointments only that you truly intend to show up for. People are coming out of lockdown with bills to pay and clients that are all clamoring to get in, so give as much notice as possible to open up the spot for other people if you absolutely must cancel.
