Tomorrow, I get to stand in a room I've been building for months and watch it become real.

Celebration of Life Seattle was never about an event. It's about the people who show up carrying someone, and finally have somewhere to set that weight down for a day.

If you're walking in tomorrow, I'll see you there. If you're not, I hope you feel this anyway. Whoever you're missing, you're not carrying them alone tonight.

Teri found me through a webinar I hosted, along with over 1,400 others a few weeks ago. After she listened to me passionately declare the 5 Stages of Grief were never about you, she booked a reading with me.

Spirit NEVER fails to meet the need of our clients, and I am honored to companion Teri through her grief. Never have I ever though gotten a review about having my $hit together. lol but I’ll take it.

If you or someone you know is looking for support, stick around, because we’re announcing something very special on 10/10. 🪽

Final prep for Celebration of Life Seattle. Guess what I’m up to?

10/08/2026

Three days.

Three days until Pier 70 fills up with people who all understand something most of the world doesn't know how to sit with. The ones still grieving a loss from years ago. The ones in the middle of it right now. The ones who came alone because no one else in their life gets it, and that's exactly why this room exists.

There's no explaining required here. No forcing a smile because it's been "long enough." Just a full day built for whatever you're carrying, and an evening that reminds you love doesn't end when someone dies, it just changes shape.

If you've been thinking about it, this is your sign. Spots are limited and October 10th is almost here.

On October 10, we’re bringing together researchers, educators, practitioners, culture bearers, and people with lived experience to share what they’ve learned about grief, remembrance, ritual, and continuing forward.

Celebration of Life Seattle is the first gathering of its kind, designed to bring together anyone who grief has touched. It's an opportunity to connect with others, feel seen, be inspired, and learn how to better move through life having experienced profound loss. A full day of vendors, featured speakers, and mediumship!

We are grateful for Migizi Miigwan (Nicole Nesberg) to be joining our panel discussion on Building a Life with Loss. She is the inaugural Integrated Indigenous Studies Professor at Peninsula, and has served as an American History Professor specializing in women, race in America, indigenous histories and cultures for 20+ years. She is a proud, engaged member of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians, descendant of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, integrating cultural practices into her daily life and the world.

We are grateful for Patrick (Ed) Lowinger to be joining our panel discussion on Building a Life with Loss. Ed is a professional archaeologist (RPA) and adjunct professor of anthropology at Peninsula College. His professional fieldwork, academic research, and publications focus on the reuse and reinterpretation of sacred spaces across chronological periods and cultures. This includes a variety of ritual practices associated with death and burial.

In just a few days, six extraordinary voices are joining us at Pier 70 to talk about what it actually means to build a life after loss.

Cassidie Carmen Bates, MPP, opens the day with a keynote on the gap between what grief requires and what the world expects.

Then our panel, moderated by Verhanika Willhelm, brings together perspectives you won't find in the same room anywhere else: An archaeologist who studies how cultures across history have handled death. A grief psychologist rebuilding her life after losing her husband. A thanatology professor who will tell you what the research actually says. Two culture bearers holding generations of tradition and healing.

And that's just one part of the day. A vendor floor, an Evening of Mediumship, and a room full of people who understand exactly what you're carrying.

I cannot wait for you to meet them. 🪽

We are grateful for Dr. Janet McCord to be joining our panel discussion on Building a Life with Loss. She runs the master's program in thanatology, the study of death and dying, at Edgewood. Having spent nearly thirty years in this field, including her presidency of the Association for Death Education and Counseling, she will tell you what the research actually says about grief and how much of what you have been told is simply wrong.
