And while I have provided this script, it’s really important to understand that the words don’t matter as much as the sentiment that you are fed up with ICE’s lawlessness and it needs to stop now. Use your own words if it’s more comfortable for you.

And if you’re phone shy, just wait and call after hours – – just make sure you leave your full name and address on the voicemail so they register your call.

Finally, yes, I understand that ICE won’t get defunded now. But calling for that, loudly, may at least get Congress to take seriously the idea of reining them in. And eventually, there was not a doubt in my mind that this agency must be shut down. I won’t support any Democrat who doesn’t call for it.
