Admittedly did a s**tty job with before and afters on this one which sucks cuz these kinda services bring up what I feel is a deeper struggle and I would have loved to have done a better job giving insight into the issues I’m talking about! (At least with this particular client)
A LOT of my clients have a hard time letting their grays grow in, and rightfully so…we’ve attached the color gray to “old” and “haggard.” (Which seems like a double standard cuz men get to be ‘silver foxes!’
This client has been doing blonde highlights for a while now and it certainly helps blend her grays but there’s still a line of demarcation with grow out that starts to bug her! (Wish I would have gotten a before pic of the top of her head!)
She bit the bullet and we decided to make a shift. We added some highlights but toned everything super ashy to start to get rid of old “blonde” highlights. We’ll prob have to do this 1 or 2 more times but then her natural gray will continue to grow out and that line of demarcation with be hardly noticeable and she won’t need color at all.
Obviously this will be sad for me because it will mean I get to see her less but it means less damage (less time, less money) on her end, which I love!
But we got into a great conversation because she said “I kno I SHOULD have let it go gray a long time ago!”
A plea to my clients…PLEASE DONT ‘SHOULD’ ON YOURSELF!!!
There is NO should! You do whatever you need to do to feel like your best self! Whatever makes u the best mother, girlfriend, sister, employee, daughter, wife…human!!! When you’re ready to make a change, great! Until then, do you (no justification needed!) *this applies to men too but the overwhelming majority of clients who bring it up in my chair are women
Anyways, that’s all, had to post a rant about it because it comes up SO often in my chair!

These 2 are so spicy! I love havin em in for ‘couples cuts (and color) with Kate!’
They always keep me on my toes (and always force me to use every single color bowl I own, lol!)

Balayage to blend grow out (and doesn’t hurt that the dimension gives the curls definition so they can POP!) Huge. fan of highlights (or lowlights) for curls!

Swear if you condensed my job into w phrase it would be this:
Client: “well my hair isn’t really curly, it’s mostly just frizz with a few waves!”
Me: wanna bet?!?

Everyone’s cutting all their hair off and I LOVE IT!!!
(and I can’t lie, it’s got me over here thinkin “should I get a pixie?!?”)
2nd and 3rd pic was a fun project with a client (that had a s**t ton of hair) that was over her undercut! and then that last pic is givin me Bradley cooper vibes 👌

This woman right here…where do I begin?!
She’s as talented as she is beautiful (and as kind).
She’s an amazing mother (I have done her daughter’s hair multiple times) and amazing wife, a dedicated educator and a passionate performer.
And somehow, amidst traveling and performing she carves out time to text me after a show (directly after/morning after) to show that her hair is still ON FLEEK and that she loves me and is grateful for me! (I have many of these type of texts from her and like, who does that?!?)
She has made the commitment to follow me to Tacoma, which feels like such an honor, I could (and have, lol) cried!
So even if jazz isn’t your thing, support this amazing woman as a human and buy her latest album (u better believe I have my copy!)

I’ve had quite a few requests for Sunday and Monday appointments during this holiday season so I’ve decided to open a few up (I do, however, have somewhat of a life so I can’t open them all, nor could I do a full 8hr day on those days) but I’m open to getting creative, so if u have a specific appt request, just shoot me a message!

1. Yet another Seattle client that followed me down (tears) he was rockin the mullet but we decided it was time to chop it! Next 2 were also Seattle clients (I truly can’t get over it). The first let me go way shorter than she normally lets me and I’m so glad cuz she rocks the pixie!!! and the 2nd took her slight facial framing to a more noticeable curtain bang! Last client was a new little gem with amazing curls (but go figure, hadn’t been given much advice on how to care for her curls☹️).

Been a busy few days down here in Tacoma!
