Confession: I don’t really like doing hairstroke brows. 🙈

Some artists will say it’s because of a lack of technique. Others will agree with me that hairstrokes simply don’t always heal or hold as well as shading does.

Most of my customers - even those who already have a decent amount of brow hair - come to me because they want their brows to look **fuller**. And fuller usually means filled in. Which means shading. Which is exactly what I prefer to work with.

Shaded brows are also much less demanding when it comes to healing and aftercare, and in my experience, they tend to hold much better over time.

And this is where the very utilitarian part of me comes in. 😂

If you’re spending hundreds of dollars on permanent makeup, I want you to get as much value out of that money as possible. I don’t want to bend over backwards just to prove that I can do the most technically complicated thing if another technique will give you the look you actually want, heal more predictably, and last better.

I like getting maximum value for my money - and apparently I want the same for my customers. 😂

So yes, I can do hairstrokes. But if your actual goal is fuller, more defined brows that require less fuss and give you more mileage for your money, there is a very good chance I’m going to recommend shading.

Red lips ❤️💋

One little detail I want you to notice in this photo 👀 You can see a slightly darker area on the lips. This is what a small bruise can look like immediately after the procedure.

Even when everything looks beautiful and even right away, like it does here, you may notice a few darker spots. This is completely normal after working on the lips and usually settles down pretty quickly ✨

And don’t be scared of the bright red ❤️ The healed result will look softer and more natural than what you see immediately after the appointment.

That is one of my favorite things about lip blush. We can go in completely different directions depending on what you want 💄

It is me looking at Twitter updates from the Burning Man gate about how long it takes to get from the pavement to the gate.

I know $740 + tax for lip blush can sound like a lot at first. But there’s something important to know when comparing prices: my touch-up is included.

A lot of artists price the initial appointment and touch-up separately. I don’t, because I actually consider the second session just as important as the first.

I want you to come back. I want to see how your lips healed, check the color and shape, and perfect any areas that need a little more attention.

About 6 weeks after your first appointment, we’ll see each other again, look at the healed result together, and make any adjustments needed.
