Skin that still looks like SKIN ✨
One of the makeup skills I’m most proud of is creating a flawless base that still looks and feels like real skin.
I’ve never liked the feeling of heavy makeup or how it looks thick and caked-on in person. If I don’t like it on myself, I know there are others who must feel the same way!
So when I do my own makeup or my clients, my main goal is always to create skin that looks smooth, natural, and REAL.
That’s why I work in thin, strategic layers Colour Correcting first, and then very thin layers using a pro foundation brand called RCMA Liquid Foundation. It gives coverage without that heavy, mask-like feel.
Here’s my secret technique:
I Colour Correct any discolouration on the face then I take a dense foundation brush and gentle tap the foundation to blend everything seamlessly.
The result? A natural, even finish that feels lightweight and looks effortless, up close and in photos!

My Bridal Makeup Artist Betrayal List...
Flights of Stairs - Hauling my heavy kit, chair, lights, wagon
Using a makeup brush and it flies out of your Fingers - Like, Really? That just goes into my dirty brush bag now
Buying more makeup and trying to get fit them in my Compact Kit - Something else needs to go
Small Spaces to set up - Just No. It's Not Comfortable for anyone
Tretinoin/Retinol - Great for the Skin, just not with Makeup over top. No one wants Flakey, Peeling Skin
Bad Lighting - is a Lifesaver
