A few more thoughts about my new career path!

Big news!

I’m going to grad school this September to become a clinical mental health therapist.

Why?! Isn’t your life basically over after you turn 50?! Hahhahaha! Oh wouldn’t that be funny. I feel like has only helped me reflect and REFINE the person I’ve meant to be.

I’m NOT leaving my beautiful work behind, but EVOLVING so that I can work 1:1 with people experiencing all stages of ovarian aging.

is a HUGELY misunderstood part of the menopause transition - and I want to be the therapist I needed when I was floored with anxiety and depression at 45, an episode that reminded me of my own puberty and postpartum crises. If you’ve read “The Menopause Brain”, you already get it.

and the science of mental health go hand in hand.

I can’t wait for what’s next. Please join me as I share my journey!

I did a thing!

So proud to announce I am now a certified genderq***r menopause provider.

As a white affluent but cis q***r woman, I represent a part of the mainstream narrative that puts the black and brown global majority of women as well as all gender q***r people at the margins of menopause care.

As yoga has shaped so much of who I am today, my commitment to truth seeking and telling brought me right to ***r.menopause

During the course, I met and collaborated with some beautiful human beings who are equally emboldened to change access to care, the narrative, the language, and mainstream understanding of the menopause experience for genderq***r people. They and their work continue to fill me with joy and hope for a more inclusive future for people with ovarian systems!

My work continues as I prepare to launch my new and improved menopause yoga & menopause education series in September ! Stay tuned!

🏳️‍🌈If you are interested in taking this course, I can offer you a 10% discount code if you DM me!

🏳️‍🌈Link to the course details in my bio!

Happy PRIDE month ya’ll!

Don’t Hesitate - Mary Oliver

If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy,
don’t hesitate. Give in to it. There are plenty
of lives and whole towns destroyed or about
to be. We are not wise, and not very often
kind. And much can never be redeemed.
Still, life has some possibility left. Perhaps this
is its way of fighting back, that sometimes
something happens better than all the riches
or power in the world. It could be anything,
but very likely you notice it in the instant
when love begins. Anyway, that’s often the
vase. Anyway, whatever it is, don’t be afraid
of it’s plenty. Joy is not made to be a crumb.

I feel so lucky to live in the PNW and have access to this glorious nature. I’ll always feel at home near the sea. You can’t take the 🇮🇪 out of this girl!

What is bringing you moments of joy these days - big or small?

Joy might feel a little hard to get at these days with changing hormones (and the end of the world as we know it) but it’s still there - in the splash of sea mist, the tickle of your wind blown hair across your face, the smile of a stranger, or a lovely spring break trip with your family.

I’m teaching a free Hatha yoga class on Friday May 1 at 6:30pm.

We will move with all the joy and renewal of the season!

I find myself reaching for community connections more than ever these days, you?

Thank you to for partnering with me to host a screening of a few weeks ago.

It was attended by people at various stages of the menopause transition - each with a unique experience and so many great questions.

🔎why is this still so hard and confusing?
🔎how long can I really be on estrogen?
🔎what do I say to my doctor when they don’t know anything about menopause?

Despite the sounds of frustrated sighs and “I’m out of patience” eye rolls that come from statements like…

📚we need more research on menopause
📚 more doctors need training, now!
📚the problem is institutionalized patriarchy

…there was mostly laughter, shared compassion, and a wonderful sense of camaraderie.

Participants left with new information and new connections to local Seattle providers who work everyday to support this vital transition. Thanks to for being all the voices of reason and care.

If you would like to work with me for coaching, nervous system and chronic stress support, I am here for you! Reach out here or on my link in bio!

Week 6 of my yoga for all stages of menopause is here!

Tomorrow we will INTEGRATE everything we’ve learned together over the past 5 weeks.

The class will be a beautiful sampling of all the new tools and skills you acquire along the way - for recognizing body cues, the peri/menopause symptoms you can handle using your own inner and outer resources, for regulating your responses to the chronic stress and overwhelm, for accessing breath practices and mindful movement to stay fluid, focused, build strength and posture, flexibility and balance!

Tomorrow we also rest! The grande finale of course, is the ten minute restorative pose which I like to call “THE QUEENAGER”!

🪷Come be in community.
🪷Boost your serotonin and oxytocin. You need it!

🪷10am PT (Zoom & IRL)

🪷Register in advance / link in bio.

Lots of great new cultural moments lately, this time all about 👏 👏 👏

Don’t let this one slip past your viewing 👀

BALANCE Docuseries: A Perimenopause Journey is the program I wish I had had in my back pocket 8 years ago when I was just dumbfounded by what in the holy hell was going on with me!!

Yes, you can absolutely stream (for a fee) on your favorite streaming platform today, but why sit at home by yourself when you can join me and other peri-curious, perimenopausal or post menopausal friends you haven’t met, while eating pie (on ♾️🥧 day!!), and watching EPISODE ONE of what will absolutely be another award-winning documentary by these incredible filmmakers.

But wait, there’s more!

We will be joined by local area menopause specialists, for a low key meet & greet! Ask them questions! Ask for a hug! Pick up a new fact or two!
