It removes approximately 21 days worth of dead skin and can be performed every 3-4 weeks. During the treatment, a medical grade blade glides over the face and neck to gently, yet effectively, remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells. Dermaplaning also has the added bonus of removing vellus hair (aka peach fuzz) which can make the skin appear ashy or dull. After removing the top layer of skin cells and the vellus hair, skin looks smooth and radiant. I am OBSESSED with this treatment and, in my opinion, it is the most effective form of physical exfoliation.

Microneedling healing timeline - I took these photos after my last treatment to give you an idea of how the skin looks immediately after a treatment and the days following. I have no makeup on in the photos ( except mascara ) and no filters were used . I love Microneedling for so many reasons , one being that there is very little downtime compared to lasers and deep peels. Typically 3-6 treatments are performed 4-6 weeks apart to build collagen in the skin.
