Small habits over time! Our bodies are machines šŖ
Thinking about how our bodies function as a complex ecosystem often brings up questions about how to keep everything running smoothly. Maintaining these systems requires a mix of specific habits that target different biological needs.
1. Prioritizing seven to nine hours of sleep provides the brain the recovery time it needs to consolidate information and process daily experiences.
2. Engaging in physical activity, such as weight-bearing exercises, helps maintain bone density, which is crucial for structural integrity over time.
3. Increasing fiber intake through whole fruits and vegetables supports the digestive tract, ensuring efficient waste processing and regular function.
4. Protecting the skin involves a balanced approach to hydration, which keeps cellular turnover consistent and preserves the moisture barrier.
5. Adding omega-3 fatty acids to the diet serves as a foundation for joint health, as these nutrients help manage the lubrication and comfort of connective tissues.
6. Keeping stress levels low through meditative practices benefits the cardiovascular system by preventing the constant spikes in heart rate that can strain the body.
Small, consistent adjustments to daily routines often yield the most significant results for long-term physical maintenance.

Eating healthy foods from the earth helps you release nitric oxide, thus naturally lowering blood pressure.
Managing blood pressure through daily food choices often feels more complicated than it really is. Instead of focusing on restriction, finding ways to prioritize nutrient-dense ingredients can make a significant difference in how you feel throughout the week.
1. Integrating leafy greens and colorful vegetables provides essential minerals that help keep your body balanced.
2. Choosing whole grains like oats or brown rice instead of processed options adds fiber, which keeps you feeling full longer and supports your systems.
3. Swapping standard seasonings for fresh herbs, garlic, or a squeeze of lemon juice provides massive flavor without relying on heavy salt usage.
4. Including a portion of fatty fish, such as salmon or mackerel, twice a week delivers healthy fats that your body uses for maintenance.
5. Grabbing potassium-rich items like bananas, avocados, or sweet potatoes serves as a natural way to help regulate fluid levels.
Small, consistent habits like these become second nature after a few weeks, and your body will certainly thank you for the extra attention to detail.

Aaaaahhhhhhh what do I eat?!
IOU Family,
I wanted to take a moment to gently remind you of something foundational to your successāyour daily nutrition matters just as much as your medication or supplements.
Fruits and non-starchy vegetables should make up a significant part of your day, with a goal of 5ā9 servings daily. These foods provide essential fiber, vitamins, minerals, protein, cancer fighting antioxidants, digestive enzymes and nutrients that support metabolism, hormone balance, gut health, and long-term weight management.
Iāve noticed a trend of relying heavily on processed protein sources like shakes, bars, packaged and processed chips and snacks. While these can be convenient tools when needed, they should not replace whole, real foods. Your body responds best to nutrients in their natural form.
Meals should be built around non-starchy vegetables firstāthese should be eaten at the start of your mealāfollowed by your protein source. This helps with blood sugar control, satiety, and overall metabolic health.
For snacks, please choose whole, simple options such as fresh fruit, a handful of nuts, boiled eggs, or similar real foods rather than processed items.
Please prioritize:
⢠Non-starchy vegetables at each meal (eat these first)
⢠Whole fruits (not juices)
⢠Real, balanced protein sources (animal or plant-based)
⢠Whole-food snacks like fruit, nuts, or boiled eggs
Think of shakes and bars as occasional supportānot the foundation.
Consistently choosing real, whole foods will improve your results, energy, and overall health.
