If gas sits too long in a system it can begin to ev***rate, condense and then become blockages. After some tender loving care this fuel module (v***r separator tank) was moving gas like a champ. Another happy customer back in the water.

Why is this delightful little Volvo Penta 3.0L Marine motor hanging out in my shop? The customer didn't realize that it was cold enough here to cause an engine to have freeze damage. Please take notice that 32° fahrenheit is freezing. A lot of people will say that it doesn't get cold enough here, or "where I come from is where it gets really cold". The season is beginning to wind down and please take the time to have us come winterize your boat.

This customer got a rare break, because the freezing water inside the engine pushed out two freeze plugs and does not appear to have damage of the block physically.

The season is starting,when was the last time you changed the fresh water impeller (water pump, raw water pump) on your boat motor?

Ask your technician to get you on the manufacturer recommended schedule for your boat motor.

Your boat uses a rubber impeller (some call it a water pump) to pull lake water into the engine to cool it and it flushes out the exhaust cooling the entire system. Neglecting the regular replacement of this small and inexpensive part can lead to overheating that damages multiple parts from the exhaust as seen above to more expensive components.

Please make sure to ask your technician what the manufacturer recommends for your impeller replacement.

Keeping up with regular preventative maintenance can help save costly repairs. Nobody likes to see their hard earned money slip away but if you don't get that yearly service and inspection you could find yourself with an unsafe or unusable boat.
