The day may be gray and dreary here in Kc but Lisa's vibrant red brightens it up. We've had 2 sessions fixing her color from another stylist, and are so close to what she had before We have worked together for almost 14 years now, I was so excited to have her back.

Continuing on with my new painting with light endeavors, I had to joy of working with the daughter of my good friend Katt Hurst in her back yard at night. I wanted to create a whimsical set of Fairy type images and light paint her wings. The concept for the sitting poses is that my lovely model Cosette holds a jar open as she releases a collection of fireflies into the night. I tried a few different versions of the light painted wings just so see which ones we liked better .. and I still can't decide! LOL! And for the standing pose, I simple wanted a ethereal Fairy with her wings held high as they glowed in the night.
** A little about painting with light** .. These images were all created in the pitch black dead of night and all of the light sourcing you see here is done with several different types of flashlights, lighting tools and Christmas lights. My model must hold absolutely still in the pitch black while I twinkle & flash the lights in front of my camera with the shutter held open. The bugs, flowers, stars, and blur are all created by the use of my LensBaby 3G and a few custom cut apertures that I change out during the shoot. There is ZERO photo-shopping done here. What you see is how the shot was created in the lens!

I haven't posted in a really long time, I got married recently and man does a wedding take a lot out of you. But, tonight the kids and I did a small shoot together and I'm so excited to see how it turns out. Here is a few behind the scenes.
