Nouvelle Salon & Day Spa turns 75 today!

75 years of service to our community!

75 years, owned by two women: Online Rowland, who opened her door as Studio Ralenes on May 1st, 1951, and then, after purchasing it in 2007, I, Jill Miller, newly named it Nouvelle Salon & Day Spa. I am excited to say that today also marks 31 amazing years as a licensed stylist at this very location! (Almost 19 as owner)

75 years of service to our guests, our community, and our teams throughout the years.

75 years of smiles, joy, heartbreak, and experiences that only those in this field can truly understand. The lives we touch, the lives that touch ours. This field is beautiful, creative, enlightening, hard, and sometimes painful to our bodies. Yet I can't imagine myself in any other field.

31 years! 31! It's like yesterday and yet a million years ago that I apprenticed under Orlea and Leonard. With the support of Gloria Scharenbroch , Karen Vanstelle , and Tamera Neese , those three angels kept me going and taught me so much. I'm eternally grateful. They put up with a lot from a stubborn young girl who never had roots and gave her some.

Transitioning from employee to employer—those were some of the most challenging and yet the most rewarding days. I watched my stylist become the most amazing, strong, creative woman I have ever had the pleasure of knowing in my whole life. Because of them, Nouvelle thrived, and I thrived, now looking back, they taught me more that I taught them.

After 31 years in the industry, Nouvelle has implemented a revised our business model. We are now focused on empowering our stylists to advance their careers by fostering ownership of their professional development and creative direction. This provides them with the support necessary to establish their own businesses within our space. Our chair rental opportunity is a collaborative environment that encourages growth, enabling stylists to define their own schedules, operational guidelines, and artistic expression. This gives them the opportunity to be more creative with you as Guests.

One of the best parts of now owning Nouvelle Salon is watching artists bet on themselves.

More freedom. More ownership. More pride.

A lot of people don’t realize how ready they already are. Sometimes they just need the right environment and a little support.
