Botnia is releasing new packaging? Yes! We’ve loved the milk glass, it was beautiful to look at and more earth friendly than plastic but Botnia’s new fully sustainable packaging takes the cake.
♻️ 🌎 hint: quality aluminum, cardboard, and compostable pouches
One of the things that drew me to Botnia is how strongly they follow their convictions, they make s**t happen over there! Prioritizing sustainability has been a goal from the beginning and watching that evolution through not only the lens of good for your skin products but the packaging it’s housed in, is inspiring.
Keep an eye out for official release on May 23rd!
🌿 ps: I plan to fully restock after the release so if you can’t say goodbye to the milk glass quite yet I still have select products left.
🌿 pps: if you never want to say goodbye hold on to the bottles and refill them!

Do you know someone deserving of this same care? Someone who notoriously gives without expectation, someone who lifts you up by just being near their warm embrace?
Tag them! And the both of you will be entered to receive a complimentary spring revival

✨ POV ✨
Belly Breathing + Brazilians.
This uncommon pairing is the secret sauce to minimizing discomfort during hair removal AND offers an opportunity to 𝘶𝘯𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘥 + 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘵.
I’m often asked what my favorite or most popular treatment is and every time clients are surprised by my answer as they are generally two different experiences.
I’ve always felt deeply connected with the pace and complexity of facial treatments, yet the excitement and stories that come along with hair removal can be so invigorating. | Not to mention it wins some serious brownie points for being the one treatment my adhd time blindness isn’t alive + well |
Receiving a facial treatment or massage it’s often expected that it will be a quiet service(although I always make it clear in the beginning that while I tend to be quiet I will follow your lead so feel free to chat if you prefer) but what about hair removal? I’ve always been taught conversation will be a good distraction but it could also be your only opportunity for the day to enjoy a moment to yourself so I’ve been dreaming up a way to offer the option for a quiet treatment.
In walks “𝘘𝘶𝘪𝘦𝘵, 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦!” to save the day, providing the option to reserve a moment of respite during hair removal, no questions asked or hurt feelings, even if I’ve worked with you for years.
After consultation a cooling crystal eye mask or heated eye pillow will be applied and your treatment will be done sans talking.
Hello! I’m here to offer a grounding, nurturing space, effective treatments and the tools to support home rituals. By using nutrient dense whole plant ingredients, slow + gentle practices, advanced massage and a variety of holistic modalities to achieve personalized results. I love sharing skin health or massage knowledge and watching the confidence that accompanies this new awareness of your body. Through my 15 years of experience I’ve learned we thrive when listening to our body’s natural rhythms and that long term external vitality comes from internal balance.
Whether it’s facials, massage, or hair removal my goal is for the environment to feel clean, comfortable, and safe for everyone.
Good morning all you beautiful humans!
Take a few deep breaths, light a candle or turn down the lights and give yourself a moment of relaxation with a rare glimpse in to the treatment room, mid-session. Maybe even unwind before bed by utilizing movements to release your own tension.
This was originally a 45 minute massage portion of Barbara’s 2 hour facial, I sped it up and trimmed away extensive chest and neck work along with the detailed time on the right side of her face. Throughout the treatment our focus was releasing muscle tension/breaking up areas of stagnation, followed by stimulating + lifting movements to bring vitality to her skin.
Our biggest snow storm of the year! Was it a snow day or work day for you?
You may be more inclined to grab a hot tea this time of year but this recipe will keep your cells deeply hydrated, is packed with nutrients and is an easy option to gravitate toward through the day!
Check out my stories for a great post written by Katie explaining key factors in keeping our bodies hydrated and functioning optimally. HINT: it’s not only about water intake! Our bodies need a balance of three big things to ensure that we are actually r e t a i n i n g our water.
It was just about 4 years ago when I started playing around with the idea of going off on my own. I had gotten a LLC + trade name, some supplies + equipment, was utilizing a treatment room 1 day a week through the spa I was employed full time and was preparing to rent a shared room in a beautiful old building through .
Imposter syndrome was a lot louder back then(exists now but is much quieter) so I was still wrapping my head around the fact that I did in fact own a business and wasn’t just providing services on the side. So when asked me what I wanted my logo to look like and what message I wanted to send I went completely blank. I laugh thinking about it because the single word I gave her was whimsical and as we sat down to rework my logo that was still the main word that stuck with me. Yet somehow with little to no guidance she created her own form of magic. I loved her work so much the first time that even with ‘endless possibilities’ for a rebrand I couldn’t completely walk away from the original. This time I had more of a vision and was able to be helpful with colors + fonts but each time I come to her, even for gift certificates or menus she still blows me away.
If you’re in the market I wouldn’t recommend any one else!
Massage this nutrient packed herbal salve over any and all skin ailments to boost your skin’s natural healing power. Seal in moisture as the last step in your skin ritual (face + body) or keep this salve on hand for scrapes, sunburns, cuts, bug bites, skinned knees, or anywhere your skin needs some extra love!
This remedy was thoughtfully curated by infusing organic, locally grown Calendula, Chamomile, Lavender (from my mom’s garden!), and Marshmallow Root in Jojoba and Sweet Almond Oil for 𝟽 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘴. Then blended with unrefined Shea Butter + local Beeswax.
Creating the recipe for this herbal salve was truly a labor of love that sent me back to my balm creating Tootsies days(who misses Tootsies?!) and I’m beyond excited for it to finally land in your hands.
Those winter sun rays and chill Sunday vibes have the studio feeling like a big, warm hug.
Sunday’s are truly the best, I hope you enjoy this beautiful day!
Putting together gifts for your loved ones brings me so much joy.
From thoughtfully trimming sprigs of juniper to meticulously hand cutting, wrapping and infusing each one with love.
Reserving time designed for you is an invitation to “check it at the door” and an opportunity to let go of the relentless checklists + worries you may carry around. Instead your treatment serves to bring an awareness to your body, through the senses. The woodsy, yet sweet botanicals billowing through the air, the warmth of a steamy towel and heated table, the grounding yet hypnotic massage, or the security of a velvet blanket. All allowing you to dip in to the parasympathetic abyss.
— Depending on accessibility or upbringing we may or may not have been taught the skills to be comfortable as deserving of intentional self care and that’s okay. Whether you are a seasoned pro or anxious newbie I strive to create a space that feels safe and inviting. Often starting with my hands as we get to know one another, then potentially moving in to other modalities.
Simple. Slow. Intentional.
In a world full of messages telling us to hustle, these words can embody what it means to feel grounded, to come from a place of balance + awareness and to truly care for ourselves on a deeper level.
For many it can be difficult to slow down, to be in our bodies and not our mind. That is until we bring ourselves back to the earth. Feeling the warmth of a blazing fire, the cooling + calming sensation that takes over when the wind engulfs our bodies, the cleansing release of the rain, and the security of our feet landing in the soil.
Nature guides us and using whole plants both internally and externally to create meaningful rituals encourages this way of life.
Have you noticed particular elements leading 𝘺𝘰𝘶 back to your body? Helping 𝘺𝘰𝘶 to feel whole?
Many of us know and love the deep rejuvenation felt from a professional treatment, but did you know some of the most impactful, long term results happen within home care?
On October 22nd at 11:00am or 4:00pm(each time is limited to 4 guests) connect with yourself through a guided botanical beauty ritual, curated for enjoyment at home.
During this workshop you will learn about the benefits of plant powered skin care, facial massage, and the foundations of Gua Sha. A traditional Chinese Medicine technique used to improve skin health through reorganizing and re-educating the tissue to be stronger, less tense, and more flexible.
All reservations include a Wilder North Botanicals Fire Quartz Gua Sha and Deluxe Samples of Botnia Rose Water Toner + Replenishing Facial Oil.
The spas I’ve worked for throughout my career have always been of the plant based mindset but that varied widely in approach from lab created plant based ingredients(which are often manipulated extracts of plants that can be grown with pesticides or low nutritional soil, etc.) to organic whole plant infusions. TaTa Harper was the first industry professional who really opened my mind to the idea of how important it was to use ingredients that come from farms with mindful practices or even the impact those practices can have in quality of the ingredients. It was when her line was just gaining traction and we were one of the first spas in Vermont to carry/use her line so she came to the spa to give education and guidance.
In the past I’ve written about my desire to use holistic practices when it came to my own business and while I certainly incorporated herbs, heavy on the massage, and skin health awareness in to my techniques(my OG’s will tell you how frequently I would repeat the phrase “all you skin needs for base line health is to be cleansed and hydrated”), but wasn’t where I wanted to be and started preparing for the bigger things. Just before receiving the offer to partner with botnia, I had chosen what was accessible to me, a company that wasn’t whole plant but was at least plant based, woman owned and created in the states, and was a line I was already familiar with(fear can tend to keep you in that familiarity). I had always worked with other women in team based environments so as a newly solo provider I looked for a community and the vast majority of what I found followed conventional beauty techniques and I started to believe I could only be successful if I adopted a clinical approach. As you all know this never say well and I always circled back to holistic beauty.
Fast forward over three years and I can say a lot of growth has happened. In my mind and business. Since investing in it feels as though my world has opened up. I’ve learned so much through them and have been exposed to a community of woman who helped further shape my approach in a BIG way.

***Technology 🙄 when I filmed and uploaded this video it looked normal but then through Instagram is looks completely overexposed and crappy, please ignore how obnoxious that is***
Wait a minute…
As we near the end of summer(this humidity makes me feel agitated so I’m seriously craving crisp, cool, autumn air) you may be noticing changes in your skin. Did sun exposure leave you feeling dehydrated, dull + lackluster?
This week Justine, owner & founder of shared some gently brightening and calming remedies she’s been utilizing in the treatment room. One of my favorite combinations was this creamy cleanser and I encourage you to try it out! Goat milk yogurt provides a cooling sensation and the jojoba oil(base for the Treatment + Replenishing Facial Oil) provides a great slip. Not only is the texture amazing but the benefits are great too!
Goat milk yogurt naturally contains lactic and linoleic acid to soften, hydrate, and heal. While both the Treatment Oil & Replenishing Facial Oil are food for your skin. Calendula, lavender, and arnica flowers, along with neem and witch hazel leaves are infused for 4 weeks in jojoba oil, providing carotenoids to promote healthy cellular function and terpenes to fight inflammation, reduce oxidative stress and combat topical pathogens.
If you enjoy this summer remedy as much as I do please let me know!

10 years ago I was fed up with birth control and started to research other options. During this Internet deep dive I came across “natural family planning” which is more commonly referred to now as “cycle tracking” or “fertility awareness” (a much more fitting title IMO) and I fell in love. There’s a certain kind of freedom that comes with knowing how your unique body functions and to this day it blows my mind that young girls and menstruating folks aren’t taught how to read their cervical fluid but are given every other option. Which says a lot about how our culture views the female body but that’s for another day.
Woman, and all folks who menstruate, are cyclical creatures and as our hormones shift through each phase of our cycle so should how we care for our bodies.
Swipe through to learn the ways hormone levels can affect your skin during each phase and keep an eye out for skin ritual suggestions guided by these changes.
is an excellent local resource for cycle tracking(and much more!)
Dive deep with .avivaromm , I highly recommend her book Hormone Intelligence
is another resource and I’ve heard great things about her cycle tracking book
A few months ago I was asked to think about whether the content I create was designed with YOU(the client) in mind or other professionals?
Initially my thought was “well of course, my clientele!” But the more I sat with this question I realized while that answer is true, it leaves out the reality of all the noise and self doubt that many of us sift through when we are surrounded by woman who are equally as inspirational, intelligent, and so freaking good at what they do!
Which leads me to my question for you…
What do you want to see more of? Are you intrigued by how our skin functions? Does learning the scientific terminology feel empowering or intimidating? Let me know in the comments!

Tune in to your body. Cell deep. And listen to the echoes of truth that reside there.
Did you know using personalization doesn’t end in the treatment room?
After I analyze and work with your skin a few concentrated drops from an array of boosters can be added to some products, helping with various skin conditions.
The Antiseptic Booster is a glycerin extract infused with Witch Hazel, Willow Tree Bark + Arnica. These plants are all wonderful remedies for acne and congested pores.
𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗛𝗮𝘇𝗲𝗹 contains tannin + gallic acid to help reduce the appearance of pores and tighten the skin.
𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗸 provides a natural source of salicylic acid, which helps to break down the intercellular matrix of lipids and proteins(the glue that holds our skin cells together) helping to exfoliate and increase cellular turnover, all while fighting inflammation and killing bacteria.
𝗔𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮 is a soothing, anti-inflammatory, and has the ability to reduce the appearance of bruising.
Rainy days call for plant magic ✨
Here’s an example of how to use just your oils without a cream moisturizer.
Remember, we need both oil + water for proper balance so when using just an oil I like to sandwich it in with my toner or hyrdrosol.
Toner/Hydrosol • Oil • Toner/Hydrosol
…if using a cream
Toner/Hydrosol • Cream • Oil

Water is a powerful element and energy source. Scientist Dr. Masaru Emoto hypothesized the memory of water, he studied the scientific evidence of how the molecular structure in water transforms when it is exposed to human words, thoughts, sounds and intentions.
To do this he would freeze water and take a high-speed photo of the crystals. With loving and compassionate intentions or classical music the water had beautiful crystalline formations versus the disconnected and distorted formations that resulted from fear and malicious intent or heavy metal(which is unfortunate because I’ve listened to my fair share of that).
If water is an energy source that stores memories, what about human beings, who are made of mostly water?
There are so many different configurations and combinations, each step personalized for the human using them. As I mentioned yesterday, it’s all about finding that perfect balance of oil and water for y o u r unique skin.
My skin desires simplicity + slight changes from week to week depending on my cycle.
What effect does your cycle have on your skin?
𝗢𝗶𝗹 + 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 = 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆, 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗻
The outermost layers of the skin are primarily composed of oils and the deeper layers of the skin are primarily composed of water. So it makes sense to have balanced skin we need both oil based nutrients to feed our protective layers + prevent water loss with water based nutrients to hydrate + promote healthy cell production.
Can I help you find the right balance for your skin?
Intuitive skincare to me involves not only reading and feeling the energy of the room but most importantly e x p e r i e n c i n g the energy exchange.
I find to truly connect I need to focus on my own breath(you tend to subconsciously follow along), closing my eyes to notice what I’m feeling and how the tissues are changing throughout the treatment.
Thank you for trusting me to hold space for you, it’s very much as therapeutic for me as I hope it is for you.

Experience the healing properties of Gua Sha. A Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment that significantly moves stagnation through lymphatic drainage, increases circulation, and strengthens connective tissues while firming, toning, lifting, and contouring the skin.

There are many ways to go about brow shaping and helping you attain your best possible natural brow. I can’t say one way is better than the other but the methods I use are my believe and what you can expect at your appointment.
The key is to bring out YOUR natural brow! I believe it’s not enough to follow measuring principles that determine how your brow *should* look, but instead to use those tools to actually visualize the outcome. It’s a skill and an art so there will be no stencils or templates here. Instead, it’s your own unique features that provide the cues I’m looking for and recognize to determine where your true brow shape lies. My goal is to maintain the brows natural lines while looking at your facial structure and growth pattern to provide a full, healthy, easy to manage design suited for your face.
We will discuss your goals, desires, and routines before starting and after shaping I’ll apply an antiseptic cream + herbal nourishing oil gently massaged in with chilled rose quartz mushrooms to soothe the skin.
A professional doesn’t know your skin better than you do. Read that again.
As professionals our education teaches us physiology and anatomy, the Fitzpatrick scale, how to identify + address skin disorders, it teaches us how products work and how ingredients interact with the skin, along with so much more based on our continued education. All of this helps us guide you in to understanding why your skin responds the way it does or what could help address specific skin concerns but you LIVE with your skin and my hope for you is to trust your instincts.
Each professional will have a different approach and if your gut is telling you what they’re saying doesn’t feel right it’s ok to keep looking for someone you do feel aligned with.
