This weekend’s tea is in celebration of 4th of July. It features Hibiscus, Linden, Licorice Root, and Butterfly Pea Flower. It’s served warm today, but over the weekend, it will be cold. It takes like Grape Kool-Aid! It’s cooling, calming and refreshing! Have a safe 4th celebration!!
I will be closing at 3pm on the 4th and at 2pm on the 5th. I will also be closed on the 8th as I will be going to Sandpoint, Idaho!
I got to have a day trip for myself last week and it was what I needed before a stressful week. I found some river beaches, a cute park, picked St John’s Wort for my personal stash and explored forest roads! I’m feeling tired and depleted. I’ve been nourishing myself with Holy Basil (I dreamt about it), Saffron, Licorice, taking The Best Sleep by Natural Factors US 🇺🇸 , and being outside as much as I can! I hope you all are taking care of yourself with this extra daylight!!

This weeks tea is Rainbow Tea in honor of Pride Month and Shelton Pride happening tonight from 5-8! Hopefully with this rain, we will also be graced with rainbows in the sky too. The tea is served warm and features rosehips, orange peel, ginger, lemon balm, butterfly pea flower, blue lotus flower, and hibiscus. It’s calming and uplift, just right to celebrate! 🌈
Enjoy my attempt to find pictures of plants that are the colors of the rainbow.
Unfortunately life has been busy and a lil stressful. I got to enjoy a vacation with my partner which I will share the place as it’s a complete gem. But after getting back got thrown into family stuff and doing a big clean on the place we rent for a lease renewal inspection (never heard of it). On top of that, I am helping an old boss at her company through a transition period and while she’s on vacation; which, unfortunately has gotten in the way of being present and taking care of things at the apothecary. (I’m sorry if you come in and felt I wasn’t present) I will be stopping helping on July 1st as I just want to be enjoy being at the apothecary, talking with customers and being creative… and also enjoy my days off as I thrive in the summer. As a little bonus, I did get to find a great river spot on Tuesday, so I’m excited to continue to return to it as no one was there.
Workshops will be coming soon. I want to be present and give wholeheartedly into my workshop. I just haven’t been in a place where I feel I can be completely present while teaching and that’s not fair to anyone who joins.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding! I hope you all had a brightly beautiful solstice and enjoy the rain that is needed. 💕🌱
Also, as a reminder, everyone is welcome at the apothecary as everyone deserves good health!

I am closing early tomorrow, the 14th, at 2pm!! I am heading to Cinebar with my partner to a little R&R…and maybe a little foraging. We stayed at this sweet little cabin with an outdoor kitchen in September for one night and I knew I had to return for the summer. I mean…look at the view of Mt. St. Helens!! Him and I will be enjoy the in the sun and doing what we love to do together, cooking. I picked Garlic Scapes at the Shelton Farmer’s Market, so I am even more excited! How do prepare your scapes? I love mine in eggs. 🤩
Check out this beautiful Columbia Tiger Lily, Lilian columbianum! After researching online, the bulbs are edible. So, when the flowers are finished thriving as pollinators love them, I may forage a few bulbs to try. Has anyone ever tried it or have any suggestions on how they prepared it?

This weekend’s tea is Strawberry Fields Forever Tea. This cold brew tea features Hibiscus, Schisandra, Goji Berry, Motherwort, Butterfly Pea Flower and sweetened with Wild Strawberry and Wild Rose Syrup! It has a sweet, sour taste. It helps calm the system and helps cope with the beginning of the busy summer months! It took everything in me to not eat all the strawberries or just gulp down the syrup! Peek the color of the syrup!🍓
This time of year is my favorite time of year. I thrive in summer, but like most people, I end up being exhausted and worn down by the end of it. This is your reminder to also rest (in the sun is better), take care of nervous system, and help support your nervous system with medicinal herbs and the garden vegetables and fruits we will be getting. Stop by to ask about what can support your nervous system!
I did have to move my class due to a standing appointment that’s been helping me through a busy and slightly stressful time with my family. I rescheduled it for the following week. I will post the flyer soon. I do make all my own flyers without the help of AI, so when it’s sunny I find it hard to want to be on my computer!
As a reminder, it is Best Friend Friday today! Stop by to make your own tea blend and to sign up for the raffle!

But I am just beyond gratefulness for the people who have supported the Apothecary since opening. I’d love the apothecary to be a staple health store for the community, so for everyone who has come in, thank you for helping that bloom! 🌺
It’s wild 🍓 season!! I absolutely love foraging for sweet little fruits. These little strawberries pack soooo much flavor. Store bought cannot compare. I’m hoping after this rain to forage for more to make a strawberry syrup for tea!!
Lastly, I want to show off my cats- Baloo and Mowgli.! These last few weeks have been super busy helping my family and I haven’t been feeling grounded. It’s moments like that when I’m taking a moment to myself outside and my boys show up for pettings and outside cuddles that help replenish me.
