Ritualizing Our Routines with Jaelyn Rose jae Double Iris Yoga and Massage
November 14 | 1:30–3:30 PM | $25
Ritual turns into routine when we stop infusing our actions with prana, the life force that animates us. We don’t want lifeless lives; we want to feel awake, connected, and intentional in the way we move through our days.
The word ritual comes from the Sanskrit Ṛta, meaning “cosmic truth” or “the dynamic rhythm of the universe.” In this workshop, we’ll explore how we can bring more presence, meaning, and vitality into the ordinary rhythms of our lives.
Through guided journaling, mirror gazing, pranayama, and moving meditation, we’ll create the space to slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and explore the difference between simply going through the motions and truly being present for our lives.
Come as you are and leave with practices to help you make the everyday feel a little more sacred.

✽ Full Moon Circle + Fall Equinox Celebration
Gather beneath the glow of the Harvest Moon as we welcome the turning of the seasons and the arrival of autumn. The Harvest Moon invites us to pause and honor what we’ve cultivated, celebrate the fruits of our efforts, and lovingly release what we no longer need to carry. Together, we’ll mark the Fall Equinox with gentle movement, pranayama (breathwork), and seasonal ritual. This is a space to celebrate what has flourished, express gratitude for what has sustained us, and turn inward as we enter a new season.
Register on the Jefferson County Parks & Recreation website.
Lots of fun new things are on the horizon, and I can already see how the harvest is an abundant one. I hope you can find time to join me during September.

Today marks a decade as a certified and registered yoga teacher. A decade of a journey that has been one of the most powerful. But even more so, over 14 years, of practice that has been with me through the thick and thin and that has changed me and held me beyond measure.
From the hippie dippie trippy bartender chick to the downright disciplined business owner mama, yoga has guided me through and I value and honor each version of myself I’ve met along the way. I feel each one holding me and supporting me all the time, each version woven together by yoga. I am so grateful for such a spiritual experience of the art taking it so much farther beyond the mat. It has connected me to the universe in ways that are indescribable.
It’s a privilege to walk beside you on your journey, too, as a teacher and student alike at Double Iris Yoga and Massage.

Thank you Jiu-jitsu and Billy strings, and the physical and metaphorical concept of trains... My favorite things besides my kids 😂
On the choo-choo rollin - always forward, never back.

Ecstatic to welcome long time DIYM student and friend, jae to the Double Iris Yoga and Massage family of teachers!
Jaelyn’s Bio:
Jaelyn Rose practices yoga to pursue embodiment and remembering. She believes the highest form of spirituality is allowing yourself to be playful. Stillness is not a prerequisite to joy but noticing is. Her classes bring presence and playfulness together, blending traditions from Hatha, Bhakti, and Vinyasa yoga. Jaelyn completed her 200-hour training at Asheville Yoga Center in 2026. As someone with a predominantly Pitta-Vata constitution, yoga has been the practice that continually brings her back into her body. Jaelyn believes a rich life is built through curiosity, connection, and a willingness to keep learning, and she brings that same spirit into every class she teaches.
Jaelyn will begin teaching Wednesday morning Vin-Hatha flow at the Charles Town location 9:30-10:30am 9/9! Keep an eye out! She will be adding more classes soon!

SO EXCITED TO WELCOME ANDE PAYNE TO THE Double Iris Yoga and Massage TEAM! Ande Payne
Her class will be Tuesdays in Shepherdstown! 11-12p and 5:30-6:30p!
IGNITE & UNWIND:
A Yinyasa Flow
This all-levels class is where fire meets stillness — and movement dissolves into rest.
The first half is a strong, dynamic vinyasa flow where we’ll link breath to movement and build the kind of focused momentum that quiets the mind into the present.
The second half slows into yin. Where vinyasa asks you to generate energy, yin asks you to receive it, softening past muscle into connective tissue, joints and fascia that rarely get this kind of attention.
It’s one practice in two halves, each sharpening the other. Come ready to build heat and just as ready to let it go.
Ande’s Bio:
Ande’s yoga practice began in 2013, out of necessity to relieve a persistent injury. What began as a path towards physical wellness became something larger: a growing awareness of the mind-body connection, a resilience that reached well beyond the injury itself, and the start of what has now been over a decade of practice.
Ande received her 200-hour RYT certification through Breathe and Flow Yoga Academy in Seville, Spain. Her training left her with a deep respect for how little the body, or the mind, ever really works alone. For Ande, the mat is where this integration gets practiced intentionally: meeting whatever shows up, in a pose or a breath or a day, with awareness, adaptability, and presence. Her classes invite curiosity and exploration around this relationship between body, breath, and attention, leaving students with a practice that extends beyond the mat.
