🚨 BREAKING: A rancher outside Mason County, Texas, woke up to a shocking sight this morning after a gigantic unexplained hole was found in the middle of his land overnight.
The property owner reportedly had no clue anything had happened until a worker checking equipment on a nearby tower spotted the opening from above. The worker called it in after noticing what looked like a massive collapse right in the middle of the pasture, and officials were then sent out to notify the landowner.
Early estimates say the crater-like hole is close to 240 feet across, with a depth described as “extreme.” Fresh dirt and collapsed ground ring the edges, making it look like the earth suddenly gave way.
The rancher said, “I have no idea how this got here.”
No one can explain what caused it, but the story is quickly spreading across central Texas as people speculate about its origin

We've had some inquiries about an incident that occurred at the Denison Inn today. At approximately 10:00 a.m., Denison PD conducted a warrant service at that location. The wanted person barricaded themselves in a bathroom. Officers also had information they had a juvenile with them. Negotiators responded and established communication with the individual. Other tactical assets arrived in case the incident escalated. The suspect surrendered without incident. The juvenile was safely released to Child Protective Services. The suspect was subsequently arrested for multiple warrants, to include felony warrants.

We are thankful the incident concluded safely and appreciate the support of the assisting agencies, including Denison Fire Rescue, Grayson County Sheriff's Office, & Sherman Police Department.

On Tuesday 08-12-2025 at 6:11pm, Sherman Dispatch began receiving calls about an individual who had been attacked by a dog and was screaming for help. Officers were dispatched to the 1900-block of North Crockett Street, where they encountered two aggressive, loose dogs attempting to bite them.

Officers were able to momentarily distract the dogs so EMS could safely approach and treat the 74-year-old victim, who was bitten several times. The dogs continued to aggressively charge the officers. Officers used multiple methods of less lethal force in an effort to stop their threatening behavior, but each attempt was unsuccessful.

After repeated attempts to safely subdue the dogs, a Sherman Police Officer fired three rounds, one of which struck one of the dogs. Animal Services arrived on scene and took custody of the dogs. The injured dog’s condition could not be treated, and it was humanely euthanized. The victim was transported to a hospital and treated for his non-life-threatening injuries.
