It was there that Penelope observed the women carefully, understanding not only their desire to be pretty in their lives, but practicing rituals thousands of years old. The young daughter Penelope developed insights that would fuel her future success as an actor, after she first paid her way and contributed to the family finances as a model.

Leyraand gives Cruz an expansive amount of room to speak of her excellent childhood and family relationships. We learn how early in her young girl life, the idea of becoming an actor dominated Cruz’s thinking. Penelope brought this well-formed dream with her to the salon. And she learned some practical skills, as well.
“Somehow, with everything we saw over the years, curling or drying or cutting or straightening or curling, we learned to do it too,” Cruz shares, preparing to speak of her dear friend Hayek.

An iconic downtown building that was once the studio of legendary painter Jean-Michel Basquiat is at the center of a feud between Big Apple street artists after a rogue muralist covered “years worth” of art with bright pink paper mache — for the third time in a year.
The face of 57 Great Jones Street in NoHo, which is now home to Angelina Jolie’s luxury fashion venture, has long been a mecca for those who consider street art an essential piece of the city’s cultural landscape.
Acolytes of the graffiti legend were incensed to discover the building covered in a layer of pink grime, blotting out years of artwork from the famous storefront for the third time in under a year.

A Russian fashion label is rolling out a collection of jackets inspired by late Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin — and they cost $1,600 each.
A Moscow-based fashion designer decided to commemorate the March 5 anniversary of the passing of the man responsible for the deaths of millions by unveiling a line of Stalinesque jackets.
According to the UK-based news site Metro, people lined up outside the brand’s retail shop in the Russian capital for a chance to get their hands on the new apparel.
But some Russians were aghast at the designer’s rollout, which featured a promotional video showing a man modeling the Stalin jacket while walking in a bombed-out Ukrainian town while holding a smoking pipe — just as the Soviet dictator did during his heyday.

Madonna's daughter, 27, turned up at the Saint Laurent's Menswear show on Tuesday ready to turn heads in her risque ensemble that saw her cover her naked body with just a sheer black lace bodysuit. The skintight ensemble featured it's own gloves and showed off every inch of her curvy figure.

Lourdes wore just a skimpy black thong under the outfit, layering an oversized black coat over it with it dropped off one shoulder to expose her bare chest and naked abdomen and legs. She styled the look by adding large dark sunglasses and wearing her hair in volumised curls, adding a dash of red lipstick and black stilettos to complete the outfit.

Trained dancer Lourdes has been securing many modelling jobs for herself of late and has also followed in her famous mother's footsteps by releasing her own music with her debut EP Go coming out last November under the alias Lolahol. She previously spoke to Interview magazine about her career confessing that she sees modelling as a great source of income for her.

She said: "Financially, modeling is a smart decision. I enjoy being very hands-on with the campaigns I do so that I'm not just modeling, per se. I dance, I have a very specific sense of style, and I'm interested in aesthetics, so I like to incorporate all those parts of myself into my projects."

Discussing her other potential routes in her career she said: "I don't know how I feel about acting yet. I think it's about finding a role that wouldn't be too far off from who I am already. Honestly, actors really annoy me, and I can't be around them."

On Monday night, arguably Australia’s most famous supermodel walked the runway for the first time in over a decade, then did it all again two hours later. After QR codes flashed on enormous screens beside the words “shop the runway”, Elle Macpherson, who will be 60 at the end of March, opened Melbourne fashion festival.
Her first outfit was a floor-length brown coat layered over orange knitwear and silk terracotta trousers by Viktoria & Woods. Later, she wore a pale yellow trench coat with matching pants by Bianca Spender, then closed the show in a floaty, black boho dress and oversized blazer by Aje.

At the 8.30pm show, the second of the night, each of her walks was met with light applause. The multi-brand runway shows were the first of more than a dozen taking place this week in Melbourne and also featured designers Martin Grant, Ngali, Anna Quan and Oroton.
