That High Desert Witch

I laid to rest a dead dove today,
The Ravens told me where she lay,
They called and whirled above as I swam,
going back and circling the place where the dead bird lay,
I moved her under her favorite tree,
I picked her texas Sage flowers,
gave her a seashell, and 3 silver coins,
I placed there also a Jay bird feather....
This was a funeral for a nameless rock dove,
but she has all my love and sorrow just the same...
