My journey to this industry wasn’t necessarily a straight path. I’ve worn many hats, worked different jobs, and experienced different seasons of life. But looking back, I truly believe every single one of those experiences was preparing me for exactly where I am today.

In April 2025, I finally took that step toward turning my lifelong dream into a career and enrolled at Career Academy of Hair Design in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

During my time there, I gave my education everything I had. I was honored to receive Student of the Month, had the opportunity to volunteer at Northwest Arkansas Fashion Week, and began building relationships with clients before I even graduated. I wanted to make the most of every opportunity because I knew how much it had taken for me to get there.

Since graduating, I’ve continued investing in my education, including attending the Redken Symposium in Las Vegas. I’ve expanded my knowledge, developed new skills, and continued growing as both a cosmetologist and business owner.

I’ve learned that being a cosmetologist is about so much more than beautiful hair or nails. It’s about helping someone feel confident, it’s about listening, understanding, and creating an experience where people feel genuinely cared for.

Building in in this industry takes patience, sacrifice, consistency, and a whole lot of faith.

If I could give one piece of advice to future students, it would be this: Don’t let where you come from determine where you’re going. Work hard, take every opportunity to learn, stay humble, and never stop pushing yourself to be better. Don’t expect success to be handed to you. Be willing to put in the work to create it. AND IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO START CHASING YOUR DREAMS!

I’m a wife, a mama, a business owner, and a woman who finally gets to wake up every day doing something she’s always dreamed of.

I didn’t get here overnight, and I certainly didn’t get here by accident. I worked for this. I prayed for this. And I’m just getting started.
