A brand new soap is headed to the curing racks and I couldn't be more excited with how it turned out! I'll post a picture of the cut when this beauty is ready to be released!

Lavo Soap Co. COVID-19 update -

I know we're all facing a lot of confusion, fear, and uncertainty right now so I wanted to drop a quick message outside of our monthly deals to let you know how we are doing and what's happening with Lavo Soap Co. at this time.

All local markets and events are currently cancelled, but my website is up and running. As long as USPS continues to operate, we will continue to ship products and get your soap out to you. I am continuing to make soap on an almost daily basis and doing my best to ensure your favorites don't run out of stock, but if they do I've added an in stock notifier to my website. Just enter your email address and you'll get a notification when it's available again!

I've been sent several messages over the last few weeks so I'd like to take the opportunity to address the questions I've been receiving.

Hand Santizer. No, I don't sell it and no, I don't have any plans to make or sell it. In the US hand santizer is considered an over the counter drug and it would be unethical and illegal to make and sell it out of my home. In addition, homemade hand santizers (commonly made with 2/3 isopropyl alcohol and 1/3 aloe vera gel) are not tested, can be ineffective and even harmful. I absolutely understand the desire to protect our families from this virus, but every health organization in the world agrees that hand washing with soap and water for 20 seconds is more effective than hand sanitizer. I also understand that when out and about we don't always have access to soap and water. Santizer absolutely has a time and place where it is helpful, but I urge you to make sure you are using legitimate brands that have been lab tested for effectiveness.

The other question or comment that seems to be popping up is, "Wow, you make soap, you must be cleaning up right now." and honestly it makes me cringe when people say that, not because they are coming from a bad place but because there are so many people and companies out there right now price gouging and taking advantage of people's fear. I'm doing what I've always done. I make a quality product with quality ingredients that I believe in. I don't believe in price gouging, and I don't believe in taking advantage of people. I recently uploaded Second Chance Soaps to my site that are listed at $4.00 because I think everyone should have access to quality soap, even if seven dollars a bar is hard to swallow right now. On the home page of my site you can also find a list of soaps that are currently discounted.

Dry Skin: with increased hand washing and sanitizing you may have noticed your skin is drier than normal. Both my lotions and sugar scrubs are excellent for returning some much needed moisture to your skin. Our Facial Bar is a gentle bar specifically formulated for sensitive skin, with no added fragrance and naturally colored. If you're dealing with dry hands I definitely recommend trying out this bar. If you can't or don't want to purchase lotions or scrubs I recommend 100% Shea Butter.
