Let be real for a minute. Social media is a lie. You get to see everyone’s highlight reels of life but that often doesn’t match the reality. Having a new business even when successful is extremely taxing emotionally. Often my friends and loved ones take the back seat while I hyper focus on my goals. Most days I’m doing my best to cope with the fear of not making the most of this opportunity. I want to build something my sons can be proud of and give them the life they deserve. I know I owe it to all of us, to give it my all. A lot of the time that means sacrificing my own mental health and self care. Often I’m struggling with being depressed, anxiety and isolating myself. Being a neurodivergent business owner has not been easy, but I’m proof it’s possible. Some days I feel like I have to work 10x harder than a neurotypical person. I’m working on being kinder to myself and giving myself time for balance. The message is don’t be fooled by social media and beat yourself up comparing yourself to others.
