I’m sure you may have wondered if this day was coming soon. With mixed feelings of sadness and hope, June 28th will be the last day I take appointments at Sorella Hair Salon in order for me to be home with Jacob and Emmett full time.

The Lord knows I’ve prayed to make 2025 a year that is uneventful; it’s been far from it. About 6 weeks ago my husband and I, with a lot of prayer, decided it was best to sell our home and use the equity to pay off our heap of debt.

With my husband’s health issues over the last 2 years and my most recent maternity leave, we were left to take out several loans to stay a float financially. Now that his health is improving, he’s been successfully growing his carpentry business. This is allowing us to make the huge decision to sell our home and take a large leap of faith of putting my career on hold.

Last week, we also faced a tragic loss in my husband’s family, now needing the flexibility to travel often and be as much of a support system to them as we can.

This challenging time has taken a mental toll on me and all of my responsibilities, including my career. It’s been difficult to shut off home life when at the salon, causing me to provide you and your family with a dulled experience which you do not deserve. I’ve always strived to give 100% when behind the chair, and lately I know I haven’t been.

Part of me feels I’m abandoning my clients, making this decision very emotional - my career and clientele will always be close to my heart because you have all made me the person I am today. Your support and loyalty over the course of my career and several life changes is unmatched. I really cannot put into words how grateful I am.

If you have an appointment this month, I look forward to the sweet and sad goodbye when I see you.
