I’m sorry to be the one to tell you this, but the SPF in your makeup is not enough to be protecting you

To actually get the SPF protection listed on your makeup, you would need to apply about 3 to 7 times the amount you normally use…

So what should you actually be using?

A dedicated facial SPF applied as the last step of your skincare routine and before your makeup. Every single morning.

Here is what to look for:
~ SPF 30 minimum. SPF 50 if you are spending time outside, driving, or sitting near windows.

~ Broad spectrum, which means it protects against both UVA rays that cause aging and UVB rays that cause burning.

~ A formula made specifically for the face so it does not clog your pores, pill under makeup, or leave a white cast.
The SPF in your makeup is a bonus. Your dedicated sunscreen is the plan.

Think of it this way. Your moisturizer does not replace your serum. Your foundation does not replace your SPF. Every step has a job, and none of them can do each other's job.
