I guess you could say I’m committed to my craft 😅
Morgan Bentley of Thistle & Ivy Tattoo Co. brought my long held soap tattoo idea to life 💖

Morgan was one of my earliest supporters and was maybe the first to begin sharing us with social media! (Yeah I feel old 😂)
I was tattooing mostly at the time (10ish yrs ago), and we both marveled at the full circle moment this session was in our friendship 🫶🏽

Seeking a chill, supportive and caring tattoo shop run by kickass women? Thistle & Ivy is the place to go 💜🩷💛🩵🖤

I turned 40 this year.
Weird.
But also not…I’ve always felt older and to be completely honest…40 feels real!
Something about meeting this decade has felt natural and peaceful.
I remember knowing people around this age and just thinking that this is the time of reverence and reflection. My girls are almost ready to move into adulthood. I am no longer held in a standard of the in between. Between young, free and wild or mother, responsibility and loving life giver. I will forever be the latter, but am so grateful to have been (or be) the former 😂
Midlife is strange. I spent the evening celebrating the change of a dear friend into her phase of lone. Restarting with fervor and saying goodbye to an era of giving endlessly of herself.
I reflect.
I have also recently been questioned about my own care of self. What do I do to keep my skin glowing? How is my hair so long? 40?
These are questions that hold me aghast… I don’t t know what to say except, I haven’t worn a commercial makeup brand since my late 20’s. I laugh. Often. I wash my face with soap and water. I moisturize with the most basic and handmade products I can conjure. I am really not obsessed or impressed with the next best thing to anti age.
I truly encourage the barest skin, nails and hair.
A few weeks ago, at farmers market, a customer commented on my ability to stay young. I balked and felt so unworthy of such an idea.
My Bridget said “Yeah Mom…I’ve seen Moms your age and I am so glad to have you as mine.”
🤯
Soap. Water. Compatible Oils and Plant Compounds. Ancestral knowledge. Modern inspiration.
I feel these are the key.

I spent some time tonight with some amazing local entrepreneurs, chefs, change makers…but above all friends.
I am grateful for their shared knowledge and aura of ageless ideology.
I’m not fighting “aging”
I am aging consciously. Embracing all phases and changes.
Loving every minute of the life I have and every moment after.
The goal is not stopping time, but celebration of every positive outcome. Gleaning it all from the earth.
My hair, nails, skin and physiology have only gotten better with this mode of thought.
The goal is to provide YOU with these simple gifts 🫶🏽

Social media. What did we do before it?
We soaked up the moments in physical, visual and spiritual memories to fuel our lifetimes.

If you all have been around for a while, you have met Bridget. Our firstborn. Quite honestly, this babe is the reason we even began our journey into more natural living and healthful, to the soil ways of life. She has been here for every moment of our growth.

I was 23 when I became a Mom to this fantastical being that spoke to bunnies and squirrels before she could walk!

Bridget is 17 this year! 🤯
How did that happen?

I only wish for everyone to encounter a human like Bridget, whose name was born of a difficult lineage, but also strength and resilience. I know Alex and I’s past and present relatives treasure a descendant like her.
She is an old soul. Kind, thoughtful, fierce, and moving forward in life faster than we all want to admit. Our pets will especially miss her if she decides to leave our household…

Bridget has been a blessing to us, and she continues to support and show up up for every event, market, and meaningful interaction that this crazy life asks for… she’s a rock that has been part of our foundation since birth.

We celebrated her a little early this year. But with good reason! We have scheduled special time and adventure with our family that we previously struggled to maintain.
Are we quiet on “social media”?
Yes.
In all the best ways 🖤

Bridget and Claudia have been consistently a part of our market life. Our girls are the reason we are here. They are so gracious and mature. I guarantee, one or both have held your attention and been sweetly guiding and knowledgeable.
I’m reveling in the light and love that emanate in their presence, and I believe so many have also basked in.

15 years we have been market folk, as a family 🖤
17 years Alex and I have been so in love with our babies 🖤
