Our 4th of July didn’t go as planned.. our family vehicle ended up in the shop, so we stayed close to home. But honestly, it turned out to be just what we needed. 🇺🇸✨

We spent the day simply.. hot dogs brats and burgers, bonfires, chalk art on the sidewalk, and lots of fireworks (thanks to our sweet neighbors down the block who invited us to their celebration even though we’d never officially met before). Our neighborhood lights up the sky every year, and it felt like a private show just for us.

The kids got to light off their own fireworks, the babies stayed (somewhat) on routine despite the booms, and I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude. For our freedom. For community. For a quiet kind of joy. For this little life we’re building. ❤️🤍💙
