The Person Behind the Brand

Behind ShakeLuxe Skincare is Dr. Dionne Robinson—an educator, entrepreneur, mother, and creative visionary whose journey is rooted in purpose, passion, and perseverance. For over a decade, as a special education educator working closely with students and families, Dionne witnessed firsthand how something as personal as skin health could deeply affect a child’s confidence. She saw little boys and girls struggling with eczema—uncomfortable, constantly itching, and at times feeling self-conscious about their skin. Watching children carry that discomfort while simply trying to learn and be children left a lasting impact on her heart.

That mission became even more personal when her own daughter suffered from psoriasis. As a mother, searching for products that would genuinely soothe and nourish her daughter’s skin without harsh ingredients became deeply emotional—and ultimately life-changing. From that experience, ShakeLuxe Skincare was born.

The brand’s name holds a special place in Dionne’s heart. ShakeLuxe was named in honor of her late grandmother, lovingly known as “Shake,” whose memory, warmth, and legacy continue to inspire the brand’s purpose.

What began as a heartfelt mission to create natural, hydrating, luxurious skincare products quickly evolved into something far greater. While maintaining a full-time career in education, Dionne spent countless late nights formulating products, learning fragrance artistry, mastering branding and marketing, packaging orders, and building her business from the ground up.

As a single mother, her entrepreneurial journey was also fueled by the desire to create legacy, opportunity, and to show her daughter the power of resilience, faith, and hard work—while proudly supporting her through dental school.

Today, ShakeLuxe Skincare has expanded into a luxury self-care brand offering body butters, body oils, dusting powders, candles, room diffusers, custom signature scents, and fragrance-inspired collections for children, women, and men.

One of Dionne’s proudest achievements has been participating in Essence Festival’s BeautyCon, a milestone that affirmed her vision could extend far beyond what started at her kitchen table.

Dionne is also the owner of Bella Ladi Sweet Creations, showcasing another side of her creativity through baking and event experiences.

At her core, Dionne is a creator, nurturer, and builder—someone passionate about helping others feel confident, cared for, and beautiful in their own skin. Her mission remains simple yet powerful: to create products that nourish the skin, restore confidence, and transform everyday self-care into a luxurious experience.
