This is about living in that modern world of convenience and bringing the harmony of Nature's Essential Elements to balance and to restore health. We can have the best of both worlds! Piper Burch: Since I was a young girl I have been keenly interested in the natural world of health...mentally, physically, and spiritually. I believe that my entire life has been a quest to explore, experience, and learn as much as possible in these arenas. I have great memories of visiting my Aunt in Colorado every Summer since I was 11. She had a “Coffee, Tea, and Herb Shop”. The walls on one side were lined with jars of Herbs with a ladder to reach the very top as in a great library. Every Summer I would come home with several large brown paper grocery bags filled with Herbs and books on Herbs. During the year I would learn and experiment on myself and my family until I could return the next Summer to replenish my stock and to see what was new. I was drawn into every health food store I ever saw. As other kids begged to go into the toy shop, I begged my Mom to go into the health food store. A newly married couple who were dear friends of the family living down the road from us were Vegetarians, goat farmers and world travelers. I spent countless days there eating giant vegetable salads and sprouts, learning about raw milk and cheese and what people ate in different parts of the world. It was fascinating to me! As a young woman I ran a very successful and unique health food store in Gulf Breeze, Florida for 8 years. Some of the most renown Herbalists, experts and authors of health books, the founders of the most successful health companies and alternative healing came into THIS store. It was truly remarkable! I learned so much during those days and met some of the most amazing and inspiring people! After closing the shop and moving back to Louisiana I discovered the internet and a whole new world of information opened up in yet another way. I have taken a year and a half course studying with Jeanne Rose's Herbal Studies covering “all things herbal”, Aromatherapy credited course and am a licensed Esthetician. A few years later I completed my certification in the didactic, therapeutic, laboratory and field work of Herbalism. Since I was a young girl I have never stopped reading, practicing and experimenting, listening or attending lectures and classes in the arena of holistic health and know that I never will. We are making discoveries as a community in the world of health every day.
