LETS TALK TRASH!!! 👑🗑️

I hear it all the time: “That’s trespassing, that’s illegal, that’s stealing...”
And sure — maybe in some cases the law says that. But let’s be real: if that’s your only takeaway, then you’re missing the bigger picture (and honestly, you’re part of the problem).

These billion-dollar corporations are dumping perfectly good food, clothes, and supplies straight into landfills while families — while children — go without every single day. And we’re supposed to just nod along because it’s “the law”? Not every law is made to benefit the people. Too often, they’re made to benefit profit.

You’ve been conditioned to believe waste is normal. You’ve been told to turn your back, to look away, to keep consuming while mountains of “trash” pile up behind closed doors. But the truth is, communities thrive when we break free from that mindset. When we share. When we support one another. When we refuse to let abundance be buried while neighbors go hungry.

So, let’s unlearn the brainwashing. Let’s come together. Let’s rethink waste. Because trash isn’t always trash — sometimes, it’s survival. And sometimes, it’s the start of real change.

All of this was brand new… thrown straight into the dumpster last night.

Perfectly good pet supplies—dog pools, beds, carriers, even aquarium gear—tossed out like nothing. This is the reality of retail waste.

While so many people struggle to afford basics for their pets, stores are throwing away items that could have been donated to shelters, rescues, or families in need.

This is why I dumpster dive. Not just to save money, but to show how much usable stuff is wasted every single day.

I just found TWO of these pools! The kids have been getting by in a doggie pool so they are about to be THRILLED !

Lately I’ve gotten some comments asking, “Aren’t you taking from the homeless by dumpster diving?”
And honestly? I used to ask myself that same question.

The answer is: NO, I’m not.

Here’s why:

Most unhoused people don’t have access to a fridge to store perishable food. They often don’t have transportation to get to the locations I dive at — many of which are in suburban backlots, behind locked gates, or deep in industrial areas. And even if they could get there, they don’t have the ability to haul 40+ lbs of food or bulky items like medical equipment, soil, or supplies.

But I do.

So I use that access to rescue food and supplies — and more importantly, to redistribute them. Families who are struggling to put food on the table. Community fridges. Mutual aid groups. Neighbors who just need a break.

This isn't about hoarding — it’s about fighting back against a broken system that throws away abundance while people go without.

I’m not taking from the homeless.
I’m taking from the trash.
And turning it into care, connection, and community.

I know I haven’t posted in a minute, but trust — your Trash Queen has not been slacking.

I’ve still been diving daily and finding more wild, useful, life-giving things than I can even keep up with.

Some of this week’s finds:

An oxygen concentrator — my second one (they retail for $500+)

A rollator and folding walker

A whole box of Father’s Day cards (right on time!)

FIVE bags of soil — like… why are we throwing away dirt??

And so much food — enough to help feed several families who’ve been struggling to afford groceries

Every dive is a reminder: what our system throws away is often exactly what someone else needs.

Still diving. Still redistributing. Still proving that one person’s trash is another person’s lifeline.

A little dumpster magic for Mother’s Day.

Last month, I found a whole box of brand new Mother’s Day cards in the trash — untouched, unsold, and headed straight to a landfill.

Today, every single kid in my son’s class got to pick out cards for as many people as they wanted — moms, grandmas, stepmoms, aunties, or anyone they love.

No one had to worry about money. No one was left out.

All because of a dive.

This smoothie? 100% dumpster dived.

Fresh strawberries, pineapple, frozen peaches & mango, pineapple juice — even the cup was rescued.

Tastes like summer. Feels like rebellion.

It blows my mind that this kind of good, fresh food gets tossed daily — while so many go without.

Dumpster diving isn’t gross. It’s resourceful. It’s sustainable. And sometimes… it’s delicious.

And here it is — the haul after a little cleaning and sorting.

Perfectly good food. Usable products. All thrown away like trash.

All of this food already went to a few families who could use the extra help, and my family had the pasta and Italian sausage for dinner tonight!

This is why I dive — because waste like this happens every day, and most people never see it.
Imagine how many people this stuff could help. Imagine how much we throw away without thinking.
