One of my favorite herbs.

Marshmallow root is a demulcent, prebiotic herb that is healing to the digestive, respiratory, urinary, cardiovascular, immune, and nervous systems! It's anti-inflammatory across the board, and it helps to increase HDL ("good") cholesterol. The root’s polysaccharides are absorbent fibers that mix well with liquids, so powdered marshmallow root can be mixed into a variety of foods and beverages—yogurt, oatmeal, applesauce, honey, and so on. Ayurvedic medicinal preparations use milk. Let the mixture sit at least an hour to absorb the liquid. Always ingest the powder with liquid: 8 oz (240 ml) liquid per 1–2 Tablespoons (15–30 ml) powder.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a joke. Breast cancer isn't. Our focus needs to be on preventing breast cancer, treating breast cancer patients, helping breast cancer survivors, and providing support for families impacted by breast cancer.

This month, we'll be posting about many of the ingredients that are known to or suspected of promoting breast cancer. Avoiding products that contain these ingredients should be part of every breast cancer prevention strategy.
