Heavy highlight on my baby girl today

I haven’t done a box jump since 2017.

Since then, several chronic pain illnesses have entered my life. Jumping hurts. Truthfully, about 75% of my days, I don’t feel good. But on the days I do, I take full advantage of what my body allows me to do.

Since March 2, I’ve shown up consistently at Burn Boot Camp. Combined with making better food choices, I’m down 25 pounds. Along the way, I’ve watched others do things that I once could do easily, and if I’m honest, sometimes I envied them.

Today, I felt good.

So I decided to take a chance on myself because if I don’t, who will?

First, I tried the modified box jumps, and in my eyes, that was already a win. Then I asked my Burn friend Kelley to record it. She looked at me and said, “Do you want to try a higher one?”

My answer was, “Yes.”

Of course, there were a few bloopers along the way, but that’s part of the journey too.

People sometimes say Burn Boot Camp is “too expensive” or “too hard.” I’m sorry, but you can’t put a price tag on what I’ve gained since March. Confidence. Strength. Community. Hope.

And as for “too hard”—you never know what impossible thing might become possible one day if you keep showing up.
