CDCDP is a group of Doulas supporting from prenatal to birth to postpartum, Perinatal Educators, Placenta Encapsulation Specialists, and so much more!

Black birthing people are 2-3x more likely to suffer negative outcomes related to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum sometimes as serious as death of the birthing person, their baby, or both. As Perinatal Educators we are trained as Doulas, Childbirth Educators, and Lactation Educators. Our goal is to support Black birthing people by providing free Doula support to Black birthing people. Not surprised! We’re working to decrease disparities while operating with limited funding! We get way more no’s than yes.

I used to attribute it to my grant writing capabilities but we now have two professional grant writers and we still see so many rejections.

I think it’s the words BLACK, BROWN, and WOMEN that makes them quickly turn their head and go on to the next proposal.

What will be will be but I mention this frequently because funders need to be held accountable and the community needs to know that we’re fighting to get resources for you relentlessly.

Thank you to Nneka Hall for presenting her Pregnancy and Infant Loss training to our Central Delaware Community Doula and Perinatal Educator Program team this weekend. Shout out to our crew for tapping in and completing this certification. Often people only consider the glorified parts of birth work while missing the aspects of loss. My goal is to ensure that our Doulas are prepared all around. June and July doula development is going to be so insightful. We don’t just train and go we keep learning intentionally. Be blessed everyone!

Just because people are in need that doesn’t mean that they should receive the bare minimum or anything less than! My goal is to serve the community with the best. So when you show up to pantry you’ll get things I’d eat, diapers I’d use, period supplies I’d wear. When you train and develop as a Doula you’ll get the education and support I wish I had and more. When I’m serving in any capacity you’ll get the treatment I’d expect to get and all I ask is that you return the positive energy. Be kind,be respectful in short just be nice!
