Most people treat all hair the same, but porosity changes everything.
Low porosity hair doesn't easily allow moisture in.
High porosity hair allows moisture in easily — but loses it just as fast.
That’s why the strategy must be different.
Low Porosity → Focus on pe*******on
High Porosity → Focus on retention
Understanding this one concept can completely change how you care for your hair.
Save this for later and share it with someone who needs it.
One of the most common questions I get from mature clients is:
“Why does my hair look thinner?”
The truth is, hair naturally changes as we age, especially for women.
As the body matures, several things begin to happen:
• Hormonal shifts (postpartum, menopause, diet, lifestyle, etc) can slow down the hair growth cycle.
• Hair follicles may begin producing finer strands than they did in earlier years.
• The growth phase (anagen) becomes shorter, meaning hair doesn’t grow as long or as thick as before.
• Over time, some follicles may simply produce fewer hairs, which is why the scalp can become more visible.
This is a normal part of aging, not necessarily a sign that something is wrong.
The goal at this stage isn’t to fight the hair — it’s to support the body, the scalp, reduce tension, and care for the hair in a way that honors its current state.
With proper nutrition, scalp care, hydration, and gentle maintenance, locs can still thrive beautifully at any age.
Aging hair isn’t a limitation.
It’s simply a new chapter that deserves a different level of care and understanding.
✨ And yes… 80-year-old locs can still be absolutely beautiful.
It's that time... color time ❤️
Your Scalp is talking and it's important to listen.
But let's not guess our way through it.
Guessing doesn't solve the problem but prolongs it.
You're frustrated because you're treating the symptoms but not the source and not seeing any real results.
A scalp assessment allows us to create a customized plan based on facts and not frustration.
If you're serious about your loc journey and truly want healthy scalp and hair, then stop guessing and start assessing.
My schedule is tight but I see too many struggling to find support. So I want to help.
So if you're serious about health scalp and want to book an assessment, DM me the word "ASSESS" and I'll send you the link.
Okay... this "caricature" trend is cool or whatever 😆

Not all thickening means your locs are “doing good.” 👎
Budding and bunching look similar, but they mean very different things. 🧐
Knowing the difference can help you:
• Avoid unnecessary panic 😌
• Prevent long-term issues 🩹
• Adjust your care at the right time ⏰
