Here's the part the brain-game industry doesn't advertise: mastered puzzles just pass the time. What builds new wiring is learning something you're genuinely bad at — a language, a chord, a recipe you've never tried. The clumsiness IS the workout. Today's brain move: give 15 minutes to something new and slightly embarrassing. One brain move every day, free → https://john-tesh-daily-newsletter.netlify.app/

Deep tissue and deep pressure are not the same thing.
Deep Tissue Massage Deep Pressure Massage
Focuses on treating specific muscles, fascia, tendons, and adhesions Simply means pressing harder
Uses slow, deliberate strokes Can be fast or slow
Targets a therapeutic goal (pain, restricted movement, scar tissue) May have no specific therapeutic purpose
Doesn’t have to hurt Often becomes painful if excessive
Pressure is adjusted to the tissue’s resistance Pressure is often based on client preference or therapist strength
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue is about depth of treatment, not force.
A therapist may use:
* Slow stripping along muscle fibers
* Cross-fiber friction
* Myofascial techniques
* Trigger point therapy
* Sustained compression
Sometimes a therapist can reach deeper tissues with only moderate pressure because:
* The tissue has relaxed.
* The therapist is using good body mechanics.
* They are working with the tissue instead of against it.
A skilled deep tissue therapist often starts light and gradually sinks into the tissue as it softens.
Deep Pressure Massage
Deep pressure simply means using a lot of force.
Someone may press very hard but never actually affect the deeper tissues because:
* The superficial muscles tighten to protect themselves.
* The client guards against the pain.
* The therapist is compressing everything instead of working through tissue layers.
This is why clients sometimes say,
“They pushed really hard, but I didn’t feel any better.”
An Example
Imagine trying to untie a knot in a rope.
* Deep pressure is like squeezing the knot as hard as possible.
* Deep tissue is carefully working one strand at a time until the knot loosens.
One requires force.The other requires skill.
“Deep tissue doesn’t mean I use the most pressure possible. It means I’m working the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue with specific techniques. Sometimes I may use firm pressure, and sometimes moderate pressure is actually more effective because it allows your muscles to relax instead of fighting back.”
Many clients are surprised to learn that the most effective treatment isn’t always the hardest one. In fact, when tissues relax instead of guarding, you can often achieve better results with less discomfort.

Masseuse or a massage therapist? Masseuse is just the French word of saying female massage therapist. Unfortunately, there’s a big debate on what we as massage. Therapist should be called. I’ve had a handful of people. Call me a masseuse. In school this was a no go. It’s such a negative connotation. Now that masseuse often refers to a person who does. Sexual acts during Massage sessions. However, when someone asks you, if you have a masseuse, you can say yes I have someone who is a licensed masseuse or massage therapist. Share the knowledge, spread the word.
