Owner Chrissy Grondin's career started long before she ever stood behind a salon chair — fixing friends' hair before homeroom in middle school, styling prom updos in high school. When a guidance counselor asked her senior year, "Why not get paid doing what you love?", she took the advice. That was more than 32 years ago.
After learning her craft in Enfield, co-founding a salon, and stepping away twice to focus on family, Chrissy opened Family of Hair and Spa in Somers in September 2024 — inspired in part by her own daughter and nieces taking an interest in the beauty industry. The name says it all: a welcoming place where clients and team members alike feel cared for and valued.
