We decided it was time to venture outside the usual — subtly. A touch warmer, a little richer, and just different enough. ✨

The sewer crew has W. Race St. shut down today, but Roots and our end of Race St. are still totally accessible! 🖤

If you’re coming down S. Center Ave past Somerset Outdoor Equipment, just know you won’t be able to continue onto Race from that direction because of the closure.

You’ve got two easy ways in:

Coming from the upper end of town:
➡️ Come down S. Kimberly Ave past the cancer center
➡️ Turn onto E. Race St.
➡️ Follow it over to Roots

Coming from the lower end of town:
➡️ Come up S. Pleasant Ave
➡️ Turn onto E. Church St.
➡️ Turn onto Spring Ave — the alley beside Little Dreamers Daycare
➡️ Follow it down to Roots

Rolling into a new school year with fresh roots and a little extra spice. 🌶️💗

This one had me doing the little can’t-stand-still excited shuffle before we even finished. 😂💗

She’s been wanting pink for what feels like forever, and if we were finally doing it, we wanted PINK pink. The problem? Her natural hair simply wasn’t going to get light enough for this kind of bright, obnoxiously perfect pink to ever show up the way we wanted it to—and I wasn’t willing to put her hair through the damage it would’ve taken to try.

So we cheated. 😏 Flat-tip extensions for the win.

They gave us that insanely vibrant pop with zero lightening to her natural hair—and when the pink does what vivids love to do and starts fading, we can refresh the extensions without repeatedly processing her own hair.

Even better? With proper care, these babies can be removed, refreshed, reused and reinstalled. Need to go back to her natural brunette for a while? Pop them out. Missing the spice? Pop them right back in. 💅🏼

All the fun, considerably less drama. 💗

If you’re coming to see Gus, Max & me at Roots, the Somerset sewer project is officially underway — which means getting to your hair appointment may now include a complimentary little detour. 💇🏼‍♀️🐾🚜

I’ll do my best to reach out the day of your appointment if they’re working somewhere that changes the easiest way to get here, because apparently your trip to Roots may occasionally require GPS, a flagger & a little bit of faith. 😂🚧

For TODAY: they’re working right up at the next intersection, and since our street is one-way, your easiest route in is:

📍 Come in from the bottom of S Pleasant Ave
➡️ Turn up E Church St
➡️ Turn onto Spring Ave — the alleyway beside Little Dreamers Daycare
➡️ And that’ll bring you right in to us!

Apparently Roots is getting the full beauty AND infrastructure experience this summer. 💁🏼‍♀️🚧

She flirted with the idea of blonde girl summer… but deep down, she knew she belongs on the dark side. 🖤

Back to the dark, dimensional brunette where she feels most like herself, with enough softness and movement to keep it anything but basic. The shine alone deserves its own moment. ✨

577 days, three littles and approximately one million mom duties later… it was finally Mama’s turn. 🤍

She is one of those women who pours so much of herself into being an incredible mom and partner that taking care of herself naturally gets pushed a little farther down the list—but no one deserves to be poured back into more. Life and a few hormonal curveballs had definitely been doing a number on those thirsty ends, so we let go of what was no longer serving her, brought back the brightness and spent one very long day taming this absolute mane. We got her as bright as we safely could while keeping everything soft, blended and ready for a seamless grow-out… because we both know it may be a minute before she makes herself the priority again. ✨

We’ve been friends for most of our lives, and the fact that she has trusted me with this mountain of hair for all these years will never be lost on me. Our lives may look completely different and keep us busy in completely different ways, but we never miss a beat. I’ll always look forward to the hours these hair days give us to laugh, catch up and make her feel as beautiful as she deserves to feel. 🤎

Between jet-setting, poolside lounging, and soaking up every ounce of summer sun, this babe’s hair was officially more traveled than most of us—and the brass came home with her ☀️✈️ We sent that unwanted souvenir packing and brought back the rich, glossy dimension the sun had absolutely no business stealing. 🤎
