Community care can look like a lot of things — sometimes, it looks like making sure a life-saving resource is there when someone needs it.

On Thursday, September 24, Opalescence is proud to be a participating pickup location for Save a Life Day, a nationwide initiative bringing free naloxone (Narcan) and overdose prevention resources directly into our communities.

Throughout the day, free boxes of Narcan will be available at the salon for anyone who would like one — no appointment, purchase, or explanation needed.

Narcan can rapidly reverse an opioid overdose and save a life. Whether you keep it for yourself, a loved one, a friend, or simply because you want to be prepared, we believe access to it should come without judgment or stigma.

This month’s stylist spotlight is Anixa “Nix”, one of our resident transformation artists and the stylist you want in your corner when you’re ready for hair that feels a little more you.

With 10 years behind the chair, Nix specializes in transformational haircutting + hairpainting, combining serious technical skill with an alternative edge.

Their work is especially rooted in creating low maintenance, natural styles for curly and textured hair, using advanced razor techniques to build movement, softness, and lived-in shape.
