Dad & Lads Racing

Our Dad & Lads drivers had a great season! (Pretty sure I have all the details right… it’s a lot to keep straight when we have a huge team 😅)
John got 7th in points and most improved driver in Hornets at South Bend
Jason got 5th in points in Hornets at South Bend
Cailee got 2nd in points in her last year in Sr. Mini Wedges and plans on moving to Hornets for the 2024 Season!
Ronnie got 5th in points in Street Stocks at South Bend
Evan got Rookie of the year at both South Bend and Plymouth and also picked up 4th place in points in Street Stocks at Plymouth.
Dakota picked up another Championship in the Hornets at South Bend, 4th in points in his factory ford at SB, 4th in points in his fwd at Plymouth and also picked up the FWD sportsmanship award at Plymouth!
Dylan got 5th in points in his Factory Ford at South Bend and 9th in his Factory Fors at Plymouth.
Tyler got 3rd in points in his FWD at South Bend and 2nd in FWD at Plymouth and also Most improved driver.
Cheyanne didn’t finish in the top 10 but she wasn’t far behind! She ended up finishing the year in 12th in points in her hornet!
Olivia hopes to be back behind the wheel for the 2024 season.
The 2024 season is getting close and upgrades and builds are underway!
We will see everyone at the races. Only 73 more days till opening night at Plymouth 😬😬

In Bracket D, we’re going to recess to play on “The Playground of Power” where Plymouth continued its big transition from dirt to asphalt in year 2 of the new configuration. Several groups made their return to Plymouth which included Sprint Cars as well as many bands. Not too far away is “The Hottest 1/4 Mile in the Midwest,” and one very successful Summer Sizzler and the awesome Flagger Boy Twin 50s kept New Paris Speedway on everyone’s mind as the future continues to look bright for the track on the former alfalfa field.

It’s the second battle between Kalamazoo Speedway and the South Bend Motor Speedway as PJP and Coates Racing had an epic battle in November. We needed overtime to settle the score last time, so this one will need every second of voting!

My collection of Dad and Lads series 1 driver dollars is about complete. I just need James Haisley #81 fwd ($1) Robert Haisley #40 sportsman ($5) and Jack “Red” Martsolf #158 ($10). I doubt I’m gonna be able to finish my collection as series 1 of driver dollars are done but if anyone can help me finish my collection I would GREATLY appreciate it. Thank you in advanced!

June 8th. June 1st make up features

Dad & Lads Racing update on today's race. Robert Alwine wrecked out towards the beginning, Olivia Horton got hung out to dry on the outside but worked her way back up to finish 6th, and Michael Werntz had a great run but ran out of laps and came up a little short at the ead, but finish with a 2nd place finish. Great job to all my Dad & Lads family that raced tonight. I'm sure grandpa is happy after that race.

81 days until the season opener at the high banks and the bright lights of the South Bend Motor Speedway! Come out and cheer on the Dad & Lads Race Team as we all are racing in honor of one of the originals, Jack "Red" Martsolf, but to everybody around here, we just call him grandpa. R.I.P Superman.

Gotta love the throwback pictures. Thanks to these guys, we have an awesome team that is as close as family.
