When I announced Crown Restoration, I promised I'd share the story behind the name.
While "crown" certainly represents the head, the name means something much deeper to me.
From the very beginning, Bodywork by Hannah Thurston has been a Christ-centered business. My logo, my values, and every service I create are rooted in my faith. This business has always been about serving others while honoring the One who made it all possible.
As I developed this treatment, I kept coming back to one word:
Restoration.
Not just because this service is designed to help restore the scalp, face, jaw, neck, and nervous system, but because restoration is at the heart of what I hope every client experiences when they leave my treatment room.
Physical restoration.
Mental restoration.
Emotional restoration.
A moment to simply rest.
For me, the word "crown" became a reminder that every person who walks through my door is fearfully and wonderfully made, created in the image of God, and worthy of being cared for with compassion, dignity, and excellence.
Every opportunity I have to care for one of God's children is a gift, and every blessing this business has experienced belongs to God. My prayer is that every person who walks through my door leaves feeling cared for, restored, and reminded of their value.
That's why the name felt right.
Not because it's simply a hot oil scalp treatment.
But because I wanted the name to reflect the heart behind it.
Thank you for the incredible response to Crown Restoration already. I am beyond grateful and can't wait to continue welcoming you into this experience ๐ค

There is something incredibly special about finally sharing a service that has been on my heart for a long time.

A 60 minute restorative hot oil scalp treatment focused on the scalp, face, jaw, neck, and nervous system.
Many of you know that while therapeutic bodywork is at the heart of my practice, I've always had a deep passion for the restorative side of massage as well. Long before opening Bodywork by Hannah Thurston, I was drawn to the way intentional touch can calm the nervous system, quiet the mind, and help the body truly rest.
During massage school, I intentionally pursued additional spa education where I learned and practiced hot oil scalp treatments. My Eastern modalities coursework also included Ayurvedic scalp massage techniques, and throughout my career I've continued helping clients experiencing headaches, TMJD, jaw tension, facial tension, stress, and nervous system overload.
Over time, I realized these techniques deserved a dedicated space of their own.
Crown Restoration brings together warm lavender-infused coconut oil, craniosacral techniques, facial massage, TMJD-focused work, facial gua sha, facial cupping, cooling therapies, and focused neck and jaw work into one intentionally designed experience.
Like every service I offer, Crown Restoration was created with intention, drawing from years of education, clinical experience, and a genuine passion for helping clients find relief and restoration.
