Did these highlights today and turned out beautiful on this amazing client.

Recently a client sent me a picture of her hair that had highlights, however, when she came in, she had covered her hair in color and only some brassy highlights remained. She wanted a balayage which we talked about as best we could but there was also a language barrier as well. She is from Uruguay. When I put the balayage in, I was not aware that she had put the color in or had it done. When the foils came off the damage was done. She told me that she had it done in Puerto Rico so after the reaction happened I determined that the color she used or they used contained metallic salts due to the specific damage that happened. When you use bleach and color that has metallic salt which she was untruthful to me about and told me she had not done anything like that it creates a chemical reaction that causes hair to melt, which is what happened? This is why it’s so important to tell your stylist the truth when she asks you what you’ve done to your hair. After the fact, she wanted me to cover her hair with another color, which is probably what she did to the last person who did her hair I refused to do that. I did apologize for the fact that this happened to her, but like I told her you must tell the truth to your stylist when you’re getting your hair done, metallic salt, and bleach together will cause the hair to melt off and break off which is exactly what happened not all of it did that but some of it did. She left very angry and blasted me on social media. I hate that this happened to her. It happened only once before to me about 8 yrs ago or more when a lady had her hair done in Costa Rica. It’s a hairstylist’s nightmare. We use professional products , but we have no control over what’s done to the hair outside of the salon. We rely on the honesty of our clients. This client was not honest.
