Why are our gels white now? 🤍

If you’ve opened a new Hey Bright whitening gel recently, you may have noticed our professional whitening gels look a little different…. 👀

The reason? Hydroxyapatite!! 💃

Hydroxyapatite is a calcium phosphate mineral that closely resembles the mineral component naturally found in tooth enamel. It’s commonly used in oral-care products because of its ability to interact with the tooth surface and support remineralization.

Whitening works through oxidation, but I’ve always cared about what we can do alongside the whitening process to support the teeth, which is why I wanted hydroxyapatite incorporated into our professional formulas!

And that pretty white color? That’s simply the hydroxyapatite dispersed throughout the gel. So if your gel used to be clear and is now creamy white, that’s exactly how it should look. 🙌

Whitening science keeps evolving, and so will Hey Bright!

Cocktail of the Week #2 🥂✨

This one turned out SO good.

She had no sensitivity concerns and wanted noticeable whitening, so I had some room to play with my percentages throughout the session!

I started with 20% Hey Bright, bumped up to 25% Hey Brighter, then brought in 22% Hey Hybrid for that longer-lasting CP activity. 🤌🏼 Finished with another 10 minutes of 25% since she was tolerating everything perfectly.

20% → 25% → rinse → 22% Hybrid → 25%

And THESE results 😮‍💨🤍

This is why I love cocktailing .. it’s not always about using the strongest gel, it’s about knowing when and why to switch it up.

I’m constantly learning, tweaking + looking for ways to make my products even better, and this is an upgrade I’ve been especially excited about.

Hydroxyapatite is already one of my favorite ingredients in Hey Triple Care, so being able to incorporate it into my professional whitening gels just made sense!

The transition will happen slowly as I roll out the new formulas, so you won’t see it in every gel quite yet!
