Well here we go Day 1... Today Kiana starts her 1st last day as middle schooler. And Wes is now settled in as a 1st grader.
While usually I would be all emotional dropping them off at school. Today I woke up early and stressed about making sure they had space set up in the house to work. What a new world we have entered.

2020- the world is in therapy or detox or both. Everyday seems to bring more questions than answers. For me it has been quiet. To sit still. To do nothing, literally nothing. I have had to sit in my own mind which has force me to face underlying things I have been able to put away in boxes to deal with later. I guess now is that time. Cancer is one thing I thought I was on top of but now I realized even with that I was only following half of what I truly believed. So I have been quiet and listening to my body to others that are doing it the way I want to do it. I have been listening to nature and what it has to offer us.

I am in a phase of waiting. Over the next two weeks I will get some results of tests I’ve had done. Test that will help me to put together my plan. I will be back to share all this with you. That is what I wanted for this page, to be the “test dummy” of sorts for others who are looking to take the path less traveled.
I’m excited to share and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little scared too. But I know what I am doing is right, for me.
My hope is the second half of 2020 can be all about healing. ♥️

THE WOMAN!
Growing up I didn’t realize the importance of having strong, inspiring women in my life. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I began to cultivate strong bonds with women who inspired me. Woman I wanted to take a piece of who they are and incorporate it in the foundation of building up myself as a strong, inspiring, kind, fierce, loving, badass woman! These photos are just a few of the women who inspire me. I realize I don’t have pictures of some that I wanted to include ( my dance mamas)

To the young women on here, I am so proud to watch you grow. I am honored that you are teaching us older generations to be more accepting of one another and our differences, to take better care of our home (Earth), to stand up and speak up for what you believe in.
I hope you look to us as an example of the accomplishments you can have if you put in the work. I hope we have built you up to feel confident to sit at the table and not just be seen in the back ground.
To the women of the past thank you for your lessons. Thank you for being the stepping stone to the path that continues to move us forward. To the women of the present thank you for teaching us that you can be a great mother and CEO. To the women of the future we pass the torch to you to set this path, we have built for you, on fire! This is your time, our time! We are here to show everyone who runs the world!🔥

Hello March... also 💙

Yesterday turned out to be an extremely emotional day for me. I am not a super fan of Kobe Bryant. I did however enjoy watching him play. It was so smooth and effortless. The true sign of someone who woke up everyday and put in the work to be better than yesterday. My heart and mind kept replaying all the news that was coming in and then I realized Kobe was only a few months older than Matt and Gianna only a little older than Kiana. All of the sudden this superhero was human. I realized my heart was with his wife, her mother. I could not imagine these two people, in my life, walking out the door and never coming back home.

This news was tragic so many families who lives’ were instantly changed forever. I cried and cried. I thought how unfair this perfectly healthy group who had no idea this was coming and here I am waking up everyday to fight for my life and I am still here. I had some very real conversations with Kiana last night. I told her this is why everyday you need to show up and live full out. None of us are immune to death. My heart aches for anyone who has experienced the loss of someone they love. It is not an easy thing to process. I hope we all take a pause here and see the things that are really important about life. Thank you Kobe for teaching us to show up, go hard, and always do our best to be better than we were yesterday. May you and your baby girl, along with the other who went with you yesterday Rest In Peace. 💔

I have spent this afternoon trying to work through my emotions. Sadness, anger, defeat, gratefulness, and then numbness. For those who are close to me have heard this woman’s name and knows her journey. This is my husband’s cousin, now my cousin and her name is Jessica. She was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer six years ago. She was the first person I was ever close to that had cancer. Who knew that just a couple years after I met her that she would become my lighthouse. She was one of the first people I called after I was diagnosed. It was her who told me to demand a port right away. It was her who first warned me of the side effects I would have from my chemo. She sent me books to help me laugh and have a sense of humor through all this. It was her who sent me books on how to explain to my kids what I was going through. She was always there to vent about the way people treated us or just any stupid thing this cancer put us through. She was always there to shine a light on the dark paths I hadn’t traveled yet.

Today my lighthouse drew her last breath in this body and is off on her next adventure. She is now free of this sickness and has left a huge impression on this place. I will miss her greatly but I will keep going because that’s what she did! She was a fighter for her life and for this world to be a better and more accepting place.

Jessica you inspire me and I will never forget all you have done for me. I will pay it all forward to those around me who need a little light and I know you will be apart of it!

I am making a big effort to make time to meditate everyday. It so easy for our minds to wonder, stress, and create stories about ourselves that just aren’t true. Meditating has help me get into a space to quiet that crazy mind that try’s to take over. Now I can recognize it and be like “girl bye with that crazy talk” I’m trying to ride those positive thoughts. You should give it a try. I use to help guide me. It’s not easy my mind still wonders sometimes but now I’m able to see and come back to my focus.

When FOLFOX takes over the hair just sheds like like crazy! I can’t take it, it’s like having a shaggy dog in the house. So it was time to say bye bye 👋🏻 to the long hair!

this is a hard one. For some reason I find it easy to hide behind this keyboard and pours my heart out to all my followers. In this space I’m able to look at it as giving to others information that may help them or just sharing my journey in hopes to make other not feel so alone in their feelings.

What I find is extremely tough for me is is letting other help me or support me. After my last post I had several friends reach out and ask what can we do? I was hesitant to open up because I didn’t want to look weak but what I’m learning is there is a lot of bravery in being honest with those who care about you. By me opening up and sharing the struggles the beginning of this year has brought to me it open up space for them to show up for me and help. Not because they felt obligated to but because they genuinely want to be there for me. It was a great feeling. So thank you... Thank you for reminding me I’m not alone in this journey and what true friendship looks like.

To those of you who struggle with this. Going through a tough time in your life. I understand how you may feel all alone in it but you have to remember you are creating that idea. The truth is you are loved more than you know but you have to speak up and allow others to step in and be your strength. It doesn’t have to be that way forever but they will be there in the time to help you get back up on your feet. Even though the world feels full of hate right now. There are still so many of us out there who want to share love and be there for each other. ❤️🙏🏻
