Flora Extensions and Color

Here’s a kind reminder to yourself this morning.

The world we live in now has created a sense of urgency in us. We are more accessible than we ever have been. We can have work meetings/classes/ etc all from home.

We can interact with clients, friends, family with our phones miles away from each other. While that’s created a lot of ease and convenience it’s also created an urgency to always be available for others needs and can cause us to neglect what we need for ourselves.

Hey there! Welcome to 2023!! We’ve reached day 7 of our subscription!

I’d like to reintroduce myself to you all since it’s been a minute!

My name is Charlene and I’ve been in the hair industry since 2009! That’s been 14 years.

Throughout those years I’ve been able to learn and grow both personally and professionally in ways that my 18 year old self could have never dreamed of.

My favorite years in this industry were the very beginning and what I’m going to boldly say is the beginning of the end.

Stay with me…

The beginning of my career started with the beginning of my adulthood. I was a sponge and was excited to take in absolutely everything. I knew that I was not that great but was eager to see the ways I would get better and improve and use my creativity to love people. Learning something new is an adventure in many ways. I’m wildly thankful for the time and investment of the mentors I had during that time and for the clients who somehow stayed with me as I fumbled through it all.

And now, here I am. I believe the beginning of the end of my career in this industry began a year ago. When I realized that my desire to learn and invest in something new meant having to branch outside of this industry. After attending and creating a beautiful game plan for Flora Extensions, I came back to Tampa and in a matter of days I realized, this isn’t it.

After investing almost 25k in education for my business, I realized that I was coming to the end of it. Funny how that happens.

We’re excited to welcome you back into the space with some holiday festive cheer and to end this year with celebration!

We’re thinking/dreaming of new ways to add creativity into our space and to our experience and can’t wait for the new year to start implementing some things!

I don’t even know how to caption this. I don’t want to do the usual “this is how many rows, this is the method, this is the length…” stuff.

I just want to talk about the feeling. The way it feels to create this and the way it feels to watch someone leave feeling damn good.

It’s a LOT of work to do a new install. It took a lot of time and energy to make sure things were placed properly and that color was created in a way that blends well. As artists, we hold our breath sometimes while we’re working because it’s a collaboration when we work with our clients.

We create, but we also need to make sure our canvas, our client, leaves feeling amazing.

Its a joy to make this happen.

I wanted to take a moment to introduce you all to .floraextensions

By this time you all know who this lady is but because she’s a ginger spice I figured a reintroduction is necessary!

Meagan is a badass stylist who has been taking on extensions since March of this year! When I say that her work is good, it’s not because I’m trying to blow smoke up anyones ass. It’s simply true.

Meagan has always had a natural talent to formulate color and she picks things up quickly. She’s determined and is always finding ways to better her services!

It’s this exact reason why in December her prices will be increasing. Not only does she add value to the salon but she’s continuously adding value to her services and the guests in our space, therefore, her prices will be reflecting that value!

I know I’m not alone when I say how thankful I have been, especially this year, for her presence and her flexibility.

Thanks for letting me be apart of your growth and journey as a stylist!!

Did you know that just replacing a few wefts at a time could make a HUGE difference in how your extensions look, feel, and last?

At a certain point your extensions may be feeling a little… rough, BUT, before you decide to do all new hair, consider asking your stylist if all you need to do is replace a few wefts.

You may be surprised at how dramatic of a difference it will make!

Throwing it back to .floraextensions first install!

We did 2 rows of 18” extensions because of her length of hair!

Now we do 1 row of 18”, we cut into it a bit to make sure that it blends well but that’s what gets us SUPER PUMPED!

Most people believe that hair extensions cause damage to your natural hair, and while that can be true depending on how they are installed, with PROPER installation your natural hair can actually get healthier, longer, and fuller!

Meagan’s hair has grown long enough to be able to wear 1 row of extensions for extra fullness and just a bit of extra length!

How soon is too soon to do all the fall things?!?
It’s currently 78 degrees in Tampa, and it will get hotter and probably more humid, but all I want to do is snuggle and wear all my sweaters.
