Did you know that healthy skins sits at about 5 on the pH scale?

Very acidic = 1-3
Slightly acidic = 4-6 (heathy skin!)
Neutral = 7

(above 7 is alkaline. This means that the skin isn’t going great and you may see some lifting problems!)

Choosing the right base coat can be a bit a guessing game, but there are little tools like our gloves changing color that can at least point us in the right direction.

⭐️Another little hint? *typically* clients with skin that is more oily or sweaty will have lower pH (higher acidity level) so using something like Akzentz Super Bond from can be helpful⭐️

Understanding your product, its chemistry and how it works will make you a better nail tech!! Because while acidity plays a big part, so does flexibility, strength and overall application. (And so does your lamp despite what your favorite influencer says)
