Hair and Makeup Artist My name is Tracy and I'm a hair and make up artist and here is my story:
I've been cutting hair since my college days in the 90's.
I decided to get an official cosmetology license in 2005 and attended the Paul Mitchell school in Provo, Utah. It is considered one of the top schools in the nation so I received excellent training. I worked at a local theater designing hair and make up for small stage productions and then went on to do hair and make up for a production on the Las Vegas strip. This gave me an opportunity to work with celebrities and video and camera crews. I came back to Riverside (where I grew up) and began to build a clientele in a salon. I offer haircutting and coloring services for men, women, and children. I also do perms, keratin straightening, extensions, and makeup for special occasions. I have worked with several brides and bridal parties and some of my work has ended up in a few different bridal magazines. I can be available to do hair and makeup for destination weddings. I went as far as Cozumel, Mexico this last summer! I am so happy to be in a career that I really enjoy. I love to make other people look and feel beautiful!

My darling daughter told me the other night that everyone compliments this other girl at school but never her. I told her that she is so beautiful and she said well mom, others might not think the same as you. 😭 I wanted to cry thinking about how my 6 year old is already having self esteem issues. How?? So sad. So today we did her hair cute like a clover ☘️ She said she got like 5 compliments! So thankful that she felt good about herself. It’s a good reminder to me how important it is to say nice things to others AND it’s important that I not tear myself down. I need to be a good example to her on how to love yourself ❤️

It could be from having a baby or it could be from isolation—maybe both? How many of you have gone more “natural” in your daily routine? I have had a lot of clients say they don’t wear as much makeup if any at all and they let their hair air dry—no heat! I have definitely stopped doing it all! I need to show you how to get the most out of your hair 🤞

I had a good hair day! I’ve been trying to wash my hair every other day instead of every day. It’s been almost 4 months and it’s actually gotten easier! I also did a s**ggy hair cut last November—I rarely use heat on my hair because I can let it air dry and the natural waves can now do their thing. It’s been great! Now I need to fill in my roots but not today! Thanks for the hair cut inspiration
