I spent a few hours with another local business owner today, and somewhere between the foils and the conversation, we ended up talking about how much growth requires letting go.

Today wasn’t just a haircut. We refreshed her blonde, took off the dead ends, and gave her hair a fresh start.

Funny how that’s true in business and in life, too.

New season. Fresh cut. No dead ends. 🌿

Extensions aren’t just for adding length. 🌿

If you’ve ever wished for more fullness, struggled to grow your hair, or wanted a style that actually lasts, you might be a better extension candidate than you think.

Swipe through to see the signs, and if you find yourself saying, “That’s me,” let’s chat. 💚

One step closer. 💚

Demolition ✔️
Plumbing ✔️
Framing ✔️

It’s been so fun watching this vision come to life, and we can’t wait to welcome you into a space that was intentionally designed around both our guests and our team.

If you know a stylist who’s looking for more than just a chair, someone who values education, collaboration, and being part of a team that’s growing with purpose, we’d love to connect.

The best is yet to come, Spartanburg. 🌿

Lately, life’s been full.

Between the new building and all the moving pieces, it’s been easy to focus on what’s next.

But I’m learning to slow down long enough to notice.

To notice God’s faithfulness. To appreciate how far we’ve come. To remember that so many things I once prayed for are now part of my everyday life.

I’m so grateful for this season. 💚

Crisis averted. They went right back in. 😂

People love supporting small businesses… until they’re expected to respect the boundaries that keep those businesses alive.

Here’s the reality.

We don’t charge cancellation fees to make extra money. We charge them because our team reserved that time for you. You didn’t purchase a product. You reserved a professional’s time.

When you no-show an appointment, that professional doesn’t get that time back. Another guest doesn’t get that appointment. That income is simply gone.

We don’t hide our policies. We don’t surprise people with fees. We require signed agreements, keep cards on file, send reminders, and communicate our expectations clearly because transparency matters.

So no, I will never apologize for enforcing a policy that was clearly communicated, agreed to, and applied consistently to every guest.

My responsibility isn’t to make everyone happy.

My responsibility is to protect the people who trust me with their livelihood.

I’ll have the uncomfortable conversation.

I’ll enforce the policy.

I’ll stand by my team.

Every. Single. Time.

If that means I’m not the right business for someone, I’m okay with that.

Respect is a two-way street. Respect our time, and we’ll bend over backwards to take care of you.

Because boundaries don’t make small businesses less hospitable. They make them sustainable.

Every guest sitting in my chair has a different schedule, budget, maintenance level, and end goal.

This guest could have spent 6–8 hours in the salon and reached her ultimate vision, but that wasn’t the best fit for her.

So instead, we created a plan that fit her.

Ten weeks ago, we started with a detox treatment to prepare her hair.

Today, we took the first step toward gray blending.

We’ll continue building from here.

That’s one of my favorite parts of consultations. We don’t have to force everyone into the same service or timeline. We get to create a plan that actually works for the person sitting in my chair.

One thing about my leadership: I’ll never gatekeep. 🌿

If I’m learning, my team is learning too.

Beautiful hair starts long before the first foil.

A few weeks ago, we hosted a blonding + consultation class where we walked through consultation questions, realistic expectations, foil placement, and the why behind every decision.

MEL HERRERA | HAIRSTYLIST| SPARTANBURG,SC started with a natural level 3, and because every step was intentional, we were able to safely lift her while keeping the integrity of her hair the priority.

Great results aren’t about luck. They’re about understanding the hair in front of you and making intentional decisions every step of the way.

And yes… the blowout ate. 🤣 Huge shoutout to JENNA | SPARTANBURG HAIRSTYLIST for staying after class to make sure we absolutely nailed the finished look. 💚

I love this community. I love what we’re building. I love helping my team flourish in their careers. Im so relieved that the cat is out of the bag 🤣

I may not be everyone’s hairstylist anymore…

But that was always the goal.

I never wanted to build a salon where every guest felt like they had to see me. I wanted to build a salon where every guest could find their hairstylist.

My job isn’t just to do great hair anymore. It’s to pour into the incredible women on our team, help them build careers they’re proud of, and create a salon I would confidently recommend to my own family and friends.

If you’ve been looking for your hairstylist, we’d love to help you find her. 💚🌿
