It comes in various forms and strengths, but because each company labels them differently, it’s created a lot of confusion for nail technicians. 🤯 🫤 So, let me break it down for you: 🌟Self-Leveling Gels or Gel in a Bottle: These are lower-viscosity gels that spread smoothly, making them easier to apply. Although they’re thinner and self-leveling, they’re still considered hard gels, offering medium to high strength. 🌟Builder or Constructor Gels: Known by different names, these hard gels have a thicker, high-viscosity texture. They hold their shape well and may self-level slightly, depending on the brand. However, because of their density, you’ll likely need to file them to perfect the shape after curing In summary: Hard gels vary based on formula and brand. They can be self-leveling or builder-style, but the key point is that they can’t be soaked off. And here’s a little secret: while hard gels are incredibly strong, they don’t always adhere perfectly to certain sensitive areas of the nail plate.
