💜 June is Lipedema Awareness Month, and on June 21st, Island Globe Tan will be CLOSED for a very special reason.

That day, I’ll be standing on the starting line of the Coeur d’Alene Ironman 70.3.

Four years ago, I was 312 pounds and fighting a battle I didn’t even have a name for yet. I was eventually diagnosed with Stage 3, Type 3 & 4 lipedema—a painful disease that causes abnormal fat growth and often doesn’t respond to traditional diet and exercise. This disease went undiagnosed for so long it eventually caused lymphedema.

I could have accepted the limitations. Instead, I chose to fight.

Since then, I’ve lost 160 pounds, completed countless races, conquered fears I never thought I’d overcome, and pushed my body further than I ever imagined possible. Not because it’s easy. Because it’s worth it.

That’s officially a WRAP on Mother’s Day Weekend at Island Globe Tan 💛🎡😂

This weekend felt less like a tanning salon and more like a full-blown carnival for moms.

We had mommosas and muffins flowing, women spinning wheels, rolling dice, winning prizes, getting pampered, laughing with strangers, hyping each other up, and walking out glowing like they just remembered who they were before life got so busy. 💛

The energy all weekend was honestly magic.

Not because of tanning… but because for a few hours, women stopped carrying the weight of the world and finally let themselves be taken care of too.

And THAT is what this weekend was really about.

Watching exhausted moms come in stressed and leave smiling, confident, relaxed, and laughing so hard they forgot what they were worried about for a little while… that meant everything to me. 😂💛

And our Mommy Makeover winner is… ✨ JESSICA GEORGEADIS ✨

Jessica is a new mom, works full time, raises her beautiful daughter, and is absolutely out there doing superhero-level life every single day. We are so excited to spoil her because she deserves it so much. 💛

Thank you to every single person who came in, supported us, shared our posts, shopped small, laughed with us, and helped turn this weekend into something so special.

My voice is gone, my feet are questioning my leadership decisions, and I’m pretty sure I consumed enough caffeine to legally vibrate through walls 😂… but my heart is SO full.

This weekend was such a beautiful reminder that sometimes people don’t just need a tan… they need encouragement, connection, laughter, confidence, and a place that makes them feel seen.

Experience in tanning is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude and personality.
