Redness in the lower white part of the eye can occur for several reasons during a lash appointment. In some cases, it may be caused by the placement of eye pads or tape, taping the eyes too high, excessive eye fluttering, or natural sensitivity from the client. It can also happen when the eyes are not fully closed throughout the service.

Most importantly, the quality of the products you work with —especially your adhesive — plays a major role in the overall comfort and safety of the client’s eyes. High-quality adhesives that are professionally formulated can help minimize irritation, excessive fumes, and discomfort during the service. Using reliable, well-balanced products is essential for maintaining both client safety and a positive lash experience.

Even with quality products, adhesive fumes can still enter the eye if the client’s eyes are not completely closed. This is why it is extremely important to educate clients on keeping their eyes fully closed at all times during the appointment. Excessive talking or engaging in full conversations can create facial movement that may slightly open the eyes, allowing fumes to enter and potentially cause irritation or redness.
